Ahh, I have MGS4 and MGS. I wish my ps3 could play ps2 games. I would have EVERY MGS game then.
I loved the VR missions on MGS1 where you had to solve the crimes. Panicked so badly on the last mission when it hit 1 minute to go.

MGS1 VR. Oh the memories. Twin giant gurlokovichs heading towards meryl and you had to take them out metal gear RAY style.
But who has the Document Disc nowadays? it's rarer than the US special edition of subsistance(again the default version of subsistance in the UK)
I do, the only version I could find in shops back when I bought it was substance and it came with document disc
..Yeah the UK Ps2 version has the document disc. The Xbox version doesn't(I only have the Xbox version) GODDAMNIT KOJIMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! :argh:
Any fans of the series with a ps3, download MGS Database from the store, it has some really good info in it.
God, I remember playing MGS when I was a kid, first game to make me cry because of the story. :gbsmith:
I love MGS series. I played them all except MGS4. MGS3 is my favourite and Peace Walker was fun to play coop.
I've completed MG1, played MG2, played both acids, played and beat MGS2, 3, and 4, played PO and PO+, and played the demo for peace walker. And i still havent got my hands on MGS1. :saddowns: [editline]27th February 2011[/editline] I've been trying to go through MGS4 at the hardest difficulty to get that fucking big boss camo. Dear god somebody please just kill me.

Playing Metal Gear Solid 1 (or any metal gear) for the first time. (I missed out of all the good PS1, PS2, original Xbox titles.) Loving it. Really impressive for a PS1 game. Of course, I didn't have a PS1 memory card, so I had to start over. So I popped it into the PS3. Are the analog sticks normally non-functional? I have to use the directional pad to get anywhere.

Isn't there a challenge in MGS4 where you can't kill anything but just robots? I think it's to get the Big Boss emblem at the end. Sounds almost impossible.

For me I'd say Peace Walker is right up there with MGS3, So much things to do in Peace Walker even after beating the game.
I laughed so hard at the random ass naked person after the DARPA chief died. Then I realized she must've stolen the clothes off the corpse.
I laughed so hard at the random ass naked person after the DARPA chief died. Then I realized she must've stolen the clothes off the corpse.
Well he wasn't dead though. It's Johnny Sasaki. He's in like every Metal Gear Solid. In MGS1 as that naked dude and the guard during your imprisonment. He was one of the hostages in the Big Shell Incident. In MGS3, you actually meet his father also named Johnny. MGS4, he's Akiba, one of the soldiers under Meryl's squad.
The DARPA cheif died, [sp]who was actually Decoy Octopus[/sp], not Johnny.

I remember when I bought MGS 3. It was my most anticipated game and because the european release was really late compared to the 2004 release. Damn that was a great game. I beat The End under 2 minutes once in the duel mode. That was awesome! Metal Gear series overall is perhaps my favorite series of all time. These games have such a different feeling compared to other games. I especially loved MGS 1 back in the day. What a great game that was. Too bad the later games, such as MGS 4 and Peace Walker weren't as good as the games back in the day. I really liked how the previous games managed to give you the same feeling as Half-Life: you are constantly controlling your character. In the later games, this changed: heck MGS 4 didn't feature one constant route, but tons of different places. This was great for the variety, but it also kept me from getting immersed, as the locations kept constantly changing.
On the PS2 you can press the ANALOG button.
Push the PS button on the PS3 controller while playing, and change the controller output from analog to digital. (or something like that).

I'm fairly sure Iraq isn't even mentioned in the second game and Chinaman's absolute hatred of America wouldn't have gone down very well either in the west. Also that mantis mask sounded awesome, most likely dropped it to stop the story being ruined I guess. The additional character of Old Man in Dead cell obviously became the End in mgs3 I'm guessing, just without the Nazi-ism.
I really hate MGS2 European Extreme. It's extreme with no rations and incredibly hard. ALL bosses are one hit kills. even Olga.
I now love Metal Gear Solid. I have the second one for PS2, but it's the normal edition. Should I pick up the Substance one if I haven't played the original?
