It's nearly impossible to run MGS2 on PC.
DO DO DODODODO
snake? snake?! SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
i love this series, i've been playing mgs4 lately. it's a lot more fun when you can play it as a shooter or it at least has reasonable controls. anyone who thinks the controls for any of the metal gear solids before 4 aren't ridiculous are ridiculous themselves.
Keyboard.
Too bad the PC port didn't have a way to play the Mantis fight the easy way.
The time I played it, I didn't even realize that. Also I have a habit of not doing it ever. I never did it y'see. And never will.

Crouch walking. I forget how I even played the previous games without it.

well, in the first, you cant.......so that might explain it

that and the shitty camera and the complete lack of an aiming system anywhere near "intelligent"
seriously what the fuck were they thinking

(And the reply finding itself in the quote somehow strikes again)
MGS3 had the same gameplay style as 4. And camera.
Quit complaining.

Well there is the over-the-shoulder aiming function in MGS4, that's a pretty significant alteration. It changes the gameplay quite a bit when you have the ability to move and aim at the same time.

Oh god, the over-the-shoulder was a godsend during combat scenes. That's why I avoided fire fights in previous MGS (Like you should).
So I guess I'm the only one who had no qualms with the old style of control or the new?
So I guess I'm the only one who had no qualms with the old style of control or the new?
The only annoyance was the aiming in my opinion. They nailed it in MGS4 though.

Everything else was fine but shooting in the first 3 MGS was horrific. I had to shoot a few bullets before the auto aim kicked it
the fucking camera angle for one except in subsistence which doesn't count cause it's rare as shit.

rare as shit?
you can still fucking buy it.

only in 1 was it ever an issue, in every other mgs you could aim in FP POV

No you aren't, though I haven't played 4 yet, I've never had any problems with the controls at any point except when I first played 2, it took a while to get used to the new stuff.
You'd have to scan your PC for a virus called mantis.exe and then terminate it before it deletes your system32 files.
HIDEO
caps
I can't find my Playstation :gonk:
So I guess I'm the only one who had no qualms with the old style of control or the new?
Nope.
But i still HATE mgs1's movement. it's so FUMBLY.
Man, I still try to play this regularly on my PS1 and PC. I do say that the number pad controls are a little wonky. I just want the other MGS games on the PC! Yes, MGS2 was released on the platform, but you needed a pretty specific set(s) of hardware in order to run it.
Is there anywhere you can still get MGS 1 (And possibly 2) for the PC now'a'days?
I've looked everywhere :(

You won't want it I promise. If you can find it, chances of it running on your computer are slim to none.
Also who wants the gameplay to go back to the MGS1/MGS2 style? I've always liked sneaking around without camo.

Ebay? There's three MGS2's on sale on Ebay.co.uk and they're going pretty cheap.

i found mgs3 today while looking for some dvd's might give it a whirl in my ps3. first time i completed mgs1 it was an imported japanese version i remember it was very confusing to play but not nearly as confusing as mgs4's batshit insane story and ridiculous 3 buttons to aim and fire controls

MGS4 had a story that filled in the gaps from all the previous MGS games, that's why it seemed so ridiculous. And what are talking about aiming controls? You hold L1 to aim over the shoulder and if you actually wanna go into first person you press triangle, it's not hard to understand.
MGO is full of hackers. :saddowns:

Yeah, it should be called "Meet Glitchers Online" not "Metal Gear Online"
But MGO is still very fun when playing with some friends.
