Steam complimentary was always there

I got steam complimentry twice, the first and last entry. I didn't get any free games though.

"Yesterday we fixed the issue where, if you had HL2, bought the Orange Box, and then bought the Valve Complete Pack, you would only get 1 Extra Copy of HL2/EP1, instead of the 2 you're supposed to. So that would be a case where it's totally legitimate for you to have received an extra copy. (For those wondering why we would change this now, it's because the code changes are required to start enabling users to buy multiple 4-packs, or 4-packs as gifts, which we hope to start doing soon).
If you don't meet the above scenario, and you still got a surprise Extra Copy, PM me with your Steam account name or email address and I'll work out what's going on. In any case, this is our issue, your account is not in danger. Thanks. "

This pretty much applies to me then. I bought Half Life 2, then the Orange Box, then I won the Valve Complete pack. I originally should have only had 2 but for some reason I have 3 now.
I never get something for free. :(
Hey, Steam. Can I have HL1, Blue Shift, Opposing Force, and Team Fortress Classic?
I brought or was gifted most of the Orange Box games separately- Got gifted Portal, brought HL 1/2/ep1/ep2 and downloaded TF2 when it became F2P so I'm not surprised I didn't get anything!

Same here, but the funny thing is my friend bought it at a retailer for 9 euros and sent me the code. I activated it but in the next day it vanished. That's what he told me anyway.
Lies? Or Steam being a piece of shit? Or smartass retailer selling some of the 3kk codes?

I wonder how steam knew my Dirt 3 was a legit Video Card promo. I redeemed it the day the Keys leaked.

I have HL: Source. Don't know if it was part of HL1 Anthology or HL2 GotY, perhaps he has one of those?

Got this a few days ago, didn't make anything of it, but decided to take a screenshot of the dialog box anyway.
I bought the valve complete pack after already owning portal 1 and portal 2, and it just said I won't get extra copies for them to gift to my friends
Or maybe it did, but I closed the update news before it loaded...
Valve owes me a copy of Counter-Strike: Source. I bought Half Life 2 long ago and later on I bought Day of Defeat Source retail, which includes CSS.
I wish I had a free orange box too, I know someone who is missing on all these games, and I'd gift all that to him for sure.
I wonder if someone somewhere is sending random people gifts :v:
