They are um not sensitive enough. You have to crash at 150 km/h into the concrete wall to get the same damage as would happen at 60-70 km/h in real life.
I've only played an hour or so, but this is really dissapointing. The driving feels really arcadey, like Grid, which is to be expected considering it uses the same engine and developers. The sounds are very weak, not what you'd expect from a pack of F1 cars. The damage and rules are annoying as hell, and very inconsistent.
An example of the rules would be when I was in qualifying doing a really good lap, I went wide off a corner and got disqualified for cutting the track. That was ridiculous.

-Graphics
-Easy
CONS:
-Easy
-Physics are bad, driving just feels odd like all the controls are delayed
-Rules are inconsistent and highly annoying
-Damage could be better
-Sounds are weak
I'd recommend using rFactor with an F1 mod, much more realistic and more entertaining. I hope I can enjoy this more though.
Well, for us PC users, you'll be happy to know that there's no lag with the animation and steering.
Been racing for a little bit and I've not had any problems with animation lag.
I regulary play Rfactor and can say there's quite a big difference in how the cars handle. Not a major issue though. Still nice to drive. Does seem to be harder to stop your car from spinning in f1 2010 though...feels like you have slightly less control. Once it starts turning, it's very hard to bring it back.
Graphics are nice...rules seem a little tight at places though. I've gone wide on a few corners and had my laptimes nulled because of corner cutting even though I was running wide and would have no advantage whatsoever.

I wouldn't agree with that last bit. Playing the rFactor F1 mod for me was like playing an incredibly boring and ugly version of [I]F1 Championship Edition[/I] for the PS3.

I've never been into formula one but for some reason this game is really calling to me, I don't know whether to get it or not.
Apparently it's pretty shit. At least the launch is with bugs and all. Shame.
This actually looks like a car game that I might get!
Since I don't have to take care of all that technical mumbo-jumbo which turns me off other driving games, it seems great.

No stores, at all, have a copy of the PS3 version of this. They are ALL on back order. If anyone can find a copy for the PS3, in any store, near Mesa, Arizona, I will be extremely grateful.
Balls, once my copy is released on friday I think I'll restart my career..finished last in 2 races now at intermediate level AI. I do have all assists turned off though. Really have to learn the tracks, then I can start kicking ass.
On Rfactor you could see darker marks for breaking zones on the track, F1 doesn't have any visible ones until the race has been underway for some time so..yeah - Really need to know my way around the tracks. Bit of a bitch the season starts in Bahrain, 2nd corner on that is a real fucker.
Enjoying the game though...just want to get better at it! Can't wait to play it properly on friday release.

Holy fuck. This game is hard. I'm playing on Medium with some tweaked settings (medium traction control and tire simulation + full damage) and I'm losing. I'm just to playing Forza 3 and since a while DiRT2 but this just plays completely different. But I love the game, it's really great. Also it runs super smooth on my 460GT (8xMSAA + Highest Settings on 1920x1080 !)

There are at least three pit stop bugs there :argh: The most common one is when you are not allowed to leave the pits until everyone else passes by. There was also a bug with mechanics serving an invisible car and thus not taking you on the pit stop. And I just had a new one, I was leading (driving Lotus wtf?) and went to the pits only to find 4 other cars standing right in the way. So thanks to automatic driving, my car just bumped into them and there was nothing I could do but restart the race.

Haha, sounds like a real problem indeed. I haven't seen it yet but then again I've only done 4 or 5 pit stops.
Would be nice to have advanced options so you can fuck with gear ratio's. For tracks like Monza, could do with 6th or 7th gear being slighty higher as on the grid straight it doesn't half rape my engine.
I've been playing for a few hrs now and it's okay but not up to my modded Rfactor to be honest. It's a great game for a console I assume but just feels much too dumbed down.
As an overall package they have done a great job, nice graphics and effects.
This game is fucking hard.
I love how some of you have it already, when most retailers send it 2 days early :/
