I follow the set strategy, but perhaps I should start deviating from it more.
I was informed earlier that UK gets it a day later than the rest of europe..buh...what the fuckleton.
Ok this is just pathetic. I'd love to know what we're waiting for.
As would I.
Looks like I won't be playing this game for another week or two (I have other things to spend my 'game allowance' on) so I'm going to find my PS2 and play some good ol' F1 06.
Fuck Monaco is scary and hard. Got 1:20 in time trial, need to lose about 5 seconds more :ohdear:
Man, all I can say is, if you're driving with no assists whatsoever like me, practice is a very awesome thing. Actually managed to get some decent lap times after spending most of the first practice hour on the track. It may seem a bit tedious but beleive me, it's worth every minute.
Enjoying this game quite a bit now. Just wish it would hurry up and friday release so I can play it officially lol.

Yeah I know, I'm pretty good at Bahrain and Australia because I've raced hundreds of laps there, but I don't know any other tracks.

Well, I just managed to secure pole position, managed to do one hell of a speedy lap.
Just hope I can keep it up for 15 laps. Or more, depending on if I can decide how many I feel like doing.

I'm about to undergo Monaco now, after coming 13th in Catalunya. Shame 'cos I witnessed my first ever pit stop bug, dropped me from 5th to 24th, but regained to 13th :P was chasing Schumacher for 6 laps :L
Total cock up on Catalunya. Not only was it my team's home race, but they'd also set higher expectations for me based on my previous results (I assume). So my target qualification place was 15th, and my target finish 12th. In practice however, I struggled massively with the last sector of the track, the tricky trio of final bends being my downfall on nearly every lap. I just managed to creep in 21st in practice. During qualification, I changed the car setup so it was more suited to dry weather, and on my first flying lap I managed a 17th place. Annoyingly, I had a lap in the bag that might've been up to a second or more faster than that (off of my sector times), but I spun the car on the last corner. Then the race started, and all went to hell. On the 2nd lap after managing to climb up to 14th, I misjudged a corner, went into the gravel and when escaping "accidentally" took out my team mate and another driver. So I had to pit for damage AND I had to pit for the penalty, in addition to this I then spun out on the last corner again. By this point, the lead cars were on the verge of lapping me, and just as we got to the final corner... I spun out, and Webber crashed into me, ending his race and giving me another penalty, plus a pit stop for repairs. I finished +1 Laps behind the entire field by the end of it. Monaco next \o/

I swear that final sector was just a simple straight curve on F1 06..

Tracks do change over time. Some by a little, some by a lot. Also I think they vary the track layout between seasons.
Tried time trial for the first time and was surprised by myself :v: Got 1:54.2 in Bahrain and 1:25.5 in Australia. In rFactor I could only do 1:59 and 1:27.

What car were you driving? lol
Think , my best for bahrain is just over 2 mins.
I did see schumacher's best time for bahrain was 1.30 which I call bullshit. Unless the older cars were faster than these things..
I think the older cars were faster, they did a total revamp to the rules in 2009. Christ, Monaco is hard to master.
Edit: There is a single straight curve, but it leads into 3 fiddly little corners before the starting straight.
2006 were the fastest cars iirc.

Red Bull.
Bahrain was altered this year (second sector now consists of all those tricky corners instead of one fast curve), so 1:30 time is legit for old version of the circuit.

Funny you should say that, I just started my career on F1 06 and it pretty much is a simple straight curve.

Yeah, I know that track really well and ended up carrying on to where that curve should be :L kind of annoying but a challenge at same time.
It is released now in Europe except for england.
Monaco in heavy rain is the scariest motherfucker ever.
I was driving around on tires for dry tracks and as soon as I hit the tunnel it lunged forward and I came out of the tunnel with 200+ KPH, lost grip and crashed.
Well good news, at least for us UK people who bought this off steam. Unlock is now showing midnight tonight and not tomorrow, yay!
Completely fucked up on R3 (Malaysia), started in pole after a really hairy quali (THEN, SUDDENLY, RAIN), got kicked back to 2nd for a while, then fucked my pit up and ended up in 7th. Faught back to 5th by the final lap, then span out at the 2nd corner. Ended up in 11th (8th +10s for an earlier collision).
Championship: Me 50, Button 48
Does anybody know what kind of research you can unlock?
Fuck Malaysia.
Is it possible for a storm to kick off in Malaysia, prematurely ending the race? :v:

Fuck yeah!
Malaysia is piss compared to Monaco. I literally CANNOT get a lap time that's decent on Monaco, I even switched on the dynamic track line and that didn't help at all. Everyone seems to be a second ahead of me. Oh yeah, and I lost my front wing like 4 times during the race.
I got disqualified from Monaco for repeatedly being flagged. I did however, manage to crunch my team mate against a wall as he tried to lap me, thus ending his race :D
Turkey seems so much easier, seeing as it's basically the same track that's in GRID.

Yeah, i'm on that too. That and Spa for me will be similar. I got disqualified in Australia which was annoying as I was doing great on the track, just got over aggressive as at the time i kept getting penalties. Didn't get one in Catalunya though, or Shanghai.
Where does the damage options setting live? I can't seem to find it and I have a feeling I've been playing with damage off.

Just before you start a race, in your trailer, to the right of your agent. There you can go to options by pressing enter on the overall race difficulty. Just under where you choose race length percentage.
Just finished practice in Turkey, 13th place, and Senna is 23rd. Plus, new R&D :D
