Got raped by bots in Monaco. They were set to the easiest level of difficulty :ohdear:
Yay, came 2nd at Bahrain, beaten by Alonso but he was like 4 seconds ahead.. Good start I think, shame my teammate came last :(
anyone use trackir? if so which profile do you use? i just reinstalled mine and was trying it out on dirt2 while i wait for f1 to unlock but the default profile is a bit crap for racing games (no dead zone, not very sensitive)

I don't use it currently, until I can be arsed to set up a profile. At the moment my head flies all over the place, it feels way over sensitive compared to other racing games I've used it for. Works fine for Dirt 2 and Track IR etc.
the trackir software is supposed to register f1 as dirt 2 so i thought they would have behaved the same, there is a zip with a bunch of profiles on the natural point forum atleast one is for racing gonna try that and seth's fps profile as it has a strong dead zone http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=38618#Post38618
Well good news, at least for us UK people who bought this off steam. Unlock is now showing midnight tonight and not tomorrow, yay!
:banjo:
My Hispania finished 13th in Istanbul, and I managed to outwit the pit bug by pitting 1 lap later than I was scheduled to, and it was as clear as daylight. Hopefully it makes up for the two abysmal finishes in the last 2 races.

Maybe that's why there's a difference.
Just finished Istanbul, Turkey grand prix and snatched pole position with Virgin-Cosworth in the final minute of Q3. I seem to do better when I play full race weekend than short race weekend, understand the track better. The track has changed a lot from F1 06 but I remember those 3 short corners you can speed into (that feels so good) but I have driven that track on GRID a lot. Ended up winning the race and my 2nd grand prix victory so far! I'm really not experiencing this pit stop bug though, I was leading Button and going into the pit he was behind me and thought ffs! :colbert: As soon as pit crew finished, they went GOOOOOO as quick as and I checked behind me.. I had a car or two heading out of the pit lane!
It's out in the UK now. Gonna give it a go soon. [editline]12:15AM[/editline] Wait, no it isn't. I've only got the option to preload, after restarting Steam too.
Hmm, it still says pre-loaded here, nothing else. [editline]12:28AM[/editline] http://steamcommunity.com/groups/FPF1L/announcements/detail/1028136099904439736
I'll be there if GFWL works. And if you're tired of waiting, go post in the Steam UK Release thread on the Steam forum. Great way to pass the time. :v:

Alright, see you then.
Greaaaat, come home - Thought I'd do a little F1 before I leave for some karting but noooooo. It's out but still stuck in pre-load. Fantastic :( |Guess I'll play Civ 5 then instead, HAR!
This is a joke, seriously.
This is a joke, seriously.
didn't my method work in the end?
didn't my method work in the end?
The VPN thing? Worked fine for me and a couple of others :3: thanks.
Apparantly it's out pretty much everywhere else, even in Australia.
didn't my method work in the end?
Yes, but it was supposed to come out at 12am, still waiting at 1am. [editline]01:08PM[/editline]
Apparantly it's out pretty much everywhere else, even in Australia.
It's even out on the GFWL client. So that's everywhere, except UK steam.
Fuck you, Steam.
I've always loved Formula One cars. Is the PC version any good? I'm thinking of the 360 version since my PC ain't that great.
Picked up a PS3 copy for $45 last night (hooray price matching) and played a little bit with both a pad and my wheel. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. It's definitely tough racing with all the aids off with just a pad, but the wheel alleviated most of the throttle control issues I have with the triggers on the DS3. Haven't had time to do any racing yet (although I did make it around Eau Rouge in heavy rain with the AI), but I'll definitely do more this weekend.
Just won in Valencia and it was a great race, rain started coming down 3/4 of the way through and I was annoyed as I just pitted before it started.. but it didn't create puddles and it only started coming on my screen in the last lap!
I just hate the Turkish race track, I don't like it at all. But the game is just awesome.
Ok, HOPEFULLY, getting this today then...
Spent a good 6 hours at a buddies earlier playing on with PS3 with a wheel. Basically simulation settings for everything, with manual, and what not. Placed 1st at Spa-Francorchamps with on and off rain with Robert Kubica. Another great example of why I should be an F1 driver. I hope I'll be as skillful with a 360 controller.
I just hate the Turkish race track, I don't like it at all. But the game is just awesome.
Heh, really? Turkey is my favourite track, I love how high speed it is.
Turkey is great. Especially those 4 flowing corners. I found that bots skill level is inconsistent. I finished 24th in Monaco racing against the easiest bots, and now I've got a pole position in Canada against professional bots with a whopping 0.5 sec advantage. I raged hard then though, because fucking Chandhok and Glock didn't pit (restarted the race 3 times and they were fucking rebel all the time) :argh:
Just won at Silverstone and Virgin Racing offered me new contract of 6.5m a year :D 4th win in a row using 360 pad, braking + abs off and medium traction control. Think i've got used to it now so i'll put traction control to low next season once i've got a good feel for all the tracks.
