I was something like 16th in practice at Bahrain in my Lotus but I can barely break out of 20th on Melbourne. I suck at all these square corners.
Oh well, my ridiculously aggressive over-taking will get me up the board when the race comes.
Fuck, struggled through 11 laps of Korea and then I get "Algersuari won" message. Instant alt+f4 :argh:
I'm loving this so much. I actually race in real life with my Peugeot 106 in amateur events, and this game is making me want to go out in an open wheeler for real.
It was 6 cars actually. The Ferraris, Jordans, and Minardis were the only cars to race, since Michelin messed up and brought tires that wouldn't last the whole race as demonstrated by poor Ralf Schumacher. Since it was a no tire change season, this made all the Michelin teams retire since the FIA refused to put in a chicane at the tire degrading penultimate corner of Indianapolis. It was actually Ferrari that refused. The FIA asked the Bridgestone teams if they had any problems with placing a chicane on the huge oval turn leading to the final straight and Ferrari convinced the other teams to say no.
I was actually at that race, we even got a full refund for the practice and qualifying (just not the race). Leaving the race was the best, because out on the streets people were going crazy. One guy in the middle of the street had a sign that said, "Dispose of your Michelin tires here."
I still had a blast, especially since I got a ton of free stuff. What's cool is I'll finally get to see a real full race this year. I'm gonna be at Interlagos to watch the penultimate race. I'm so pumped.
Just dug up this...

A few flimsy lap times doesn't prove anything.
It doesn't bother me, it's still a fun game.
I've only done 2 AI races since release, I'm either in time trial or online.
Couldn't do Bahrain for shit, came 18th
Melbourne, qualified 9th, came 1st.
I'm up to the fifth race of my first season, I can't bring myself to do an hour of Monaco, because I know I'll crash and rage.
Just dug up this...
I always thought that was pretty obvious. I can drive around the track in qualifying and have a Ferrari the same distance behind my Lotus the whole way around, not gaining nor falling away, and yet I'll be more than 2 seconds slower than it on the board when I get to the pits.
Still, it doesn't exactly bother me.
It's hardly a game breaker, it just makes things slightly unfair.

Turn up the amount of Flashbacks if you think you're going to have a hard time - your payout might decrease slightly, but it's better than castrating yourself with a pineapple

I just play with the full 4. I don't see the point in pissing myself off by driving for 20 laps and then messing up on the the last corner.
Also, I find it odd you get the same amount of flashbacks in this for as much as a full race as you do in DiRT for 3 minute runs.

Yeah I thought about this, all though wrapping your car around a tree in dirt is usually more severe than spinning off and losing 3 places in F1 so it evens out I guess

Take it easy, try and out break them on the nouvelle chicane. works for me

Well yea, the FIA refused because the Bridgestone teams didn't agree. It wasn't the teams that didn't.
Also I've been to 12 GP's in my life. I've been at the Australian GP for the past three years since it's next to my house. I've only been to Albert Park and Catalunya this year. Next year I'm heading out for Albert Park, Sepang, Catalunya, and Singapore.
We actually scored Paddock Passes to the Melbourne GP last year. I met Mahk Webbah and Vettel and alot of others. :3:

This has to be the most optimistic poster ever.

The only time I have had to use a flashback is when I got a major penalty for someone driving into the back of my car on a straight in practice...I was halfway through Q2 and couldn't be arsed to reset.
If I fuck up a race, I fuck up a race..

Well it bothers me a lot. Completely removes the factor of driver mistake or traffic which could result in unexpected qualification results.
Last turn in Korea is sweet.

Nice. I drive a Peugeot 205gti. It's terrifying to go above 160kmph with it on public roads.
I drove Formula Ford Australia in real life. I won 2 races in my 2nd season. I didn't get a seat afterwards because they got some old dude whose going no where in his life.
Fuck me.
Good news in I might be getting a seat in FF Britain.
Also, the 360 is awesome. Not experiencing the shit you guys are on PC.
Driving this sexy beast in season 2.

Best looking car this year imo.

That would be sweet.
Restarted my career and finished 5th in Bahrain after a terrible wet race. It rains an awful lot in that desert.
It hasn't rained for me on 360. All these problems seem to be with pc. :ohdear:

The rain at Bahrain is very rare, he just got unlucky, the game is fine but a bit too easy though.

I messed up the final chicane so bad :emo:
