I drove Formula Ford Australia in real life. I won 2 races in my 2nd season. I didn't get a seat afterwards because they got some old dude whose going no where in his life.
Fuck me.
Good news in I might be getting a seat in FF Britain.
Also, the 360 is awesome. Not experiencing the shit you guys are on PC.
You are now my new favorite FPer.
Way to go man!
Are the cars in the game supposed to have a shit steering radius while braking?
Are the cars in the game supposed to have a shit steering radius while braking?
Yeah it's shitty. For example in Monza on main straight I have to brake at 150m mark and then slowly pass the chicane, while irl drivers brake at 100 meters and turn while braking.

Try moving the braking bias towards the rear of the car.
That last bit of corners at Catalunya in the wet... :byodood:
Are the cars in the game supposed to have a shit steering radius while braking?
It's because much of the grip is already used for breaking hard, not steering.
This game's getting annoying. NPC cars don't seem to be affected by the weight of their fuel. Meaning I'm falling behind at the start, and then by the end, overtaken the Williams/Force India cars in a Lotus.
They pull speed out of nowhere on the straights too. They're horrible in the corners, braking extremely early, and cornering extremely slowly. Forever crashing into me when trying to overtake me, and then I get the drive through penalty for it.
They pull speed out of nowhere on the straights too.
Oh good it's not just me - I thought I was just terrible at timing my gear changes.

They brake and corner early thus pulling more speed out of the corner.
Not to mention, you're in a lotus.
Maybe, but I'm still astranomically faster through a series of corners. Not just the ones which pull out onto a straight. So much so that they must be backing off a lot.
But you're in a Lotus, The only cars you should be able to complete with are the HRT and Virgin.
Sorry, it just occured to me, I wasn't clear enough. By the end of a race, I had overtaken the Force India and Williams cars. Not they had overtaken me.
[editline]06:01PM[/editline]
The only cars I should be able to compete with are the HRT and Virgins, yes. But once my fuel load is slowing me down as much as it is every other car (specifically, not), I'm miles faster than everything else.
lemming77, turn off fuel simulation because it's broken.
Just qualified first in a Lotus! I went out straight away in Quali, set a medium fast dry time, then it started pissing it down, and no one else had set a dry time so Lotus on pole! I finished 14th in the end but thats different.
Didn't see that option... Done, thanks.
Might disable damage and penalties for as long as the AI cars are this clumsy.
I don't why everybody says this game is super hard or anything...
I'm playing season 1 with Williams, completed 3 grand prix(s), and not a single 2nd place or anything lower.
I'm playing on medium difficulty.
Yessss my steering wheel just came.

I think most people including myself, have all assists off, driver level professional at least, and the sim options on. I have that, except I have penalties reduced because they seem OTT and 4 flashbacks to stop myself from just murdering several people

As others have mentioned they are on full difficulty, and most of them aren't complaining about the difficulty. They are complaining about how broken the game is. All of the things that influence you are completely ignored by the AI.
Basically, shit AI means hopeless racing game.
I know what game I am going to buy.
This game.
BAH! Having far more problems with this Driving Force GT than I expected. Force-feedback is non-existent, the gear stick won't map to control schemes and the Logitech Profiler isn't detecting the wheel.

Try downloading off the website, not install from disk, uninstall the profiler and download the latest version.
I didn't even get a disk, the only software I have is from the site.
F1 cars don't use stick shifters. Use the paddles bro.
F1 cars don't use stick shifters. Use the paddles bro.
This is the only downside to the driving force GT I'm having, it has small buttons, not full paddles.

I know, but I'm playing DiRT and GRID too. Regardless, the force-feedback is still missing.
The power supply's plugged in, right? That's a more common mistake than I'd expected...
'Tis yes.
Citizen Game's F1 2010 review is up.
Different from the more mainstream media's reviewing in that the writer is a massive F1 and driving simulations fan, so it's much more informed than any others I have read.
I wish I'd known about this before I bought the game. That's ruined it for me completely.
