Getting myself this:
Is that the 360 wheel? I really wouldn't bother with that on PC - I hear it has no force-feedback (it does on 360 I think, but not on PC) which makes driving games really far less immersing, and actually surprisingly more difficult. If I'm wrong then go for it - it's a good, cheap wheel apart from that. Does it have pedals too?
I see in that review that the wheel instantly snaps back when finished turning, is that because it's on xbox?
It is, yeah. They push the stick to turn, and when they want to straighten out, let go of the stick and let it flick back to the middle.

It is wireless too but can use same connector the gamepad uses, which DOES have feedback. Although you could be right, the controller is the one made for windows, i'm not sure if there is a wheel made for windows yet, but it is under the recommended wheels by codemasters for PC.
This guy has 5 good long videos. Reveals some very bad moments as well, like at 2:13 multiple overtake and not shadow on the car at 6:38 :cop: [editline]09:11AM[/editline] I've never watched so many videos about any upcoming game :ohdear:
You choose the percentage of race length. Career minimum is 10%, Multiplayer minimum can be 1 lap. Also that german preview looked brilliant, the flat tyre was orgasmic. :gizz:
Will the career just be a linear progression of events that you unlock for victories or will you earn money and be able to choose from a bunch of events at any given time like GRID?
Will the career just be a linear progression of events that you unlock for victories or will you earn money and be able to choose from a bunch of events at any given time like GRID?
Don't be silly. It's a season consisting of 19 GP and you don't have to win to progress. You won't be able to win at all in the first season. Unless you play like a pussy with all the help and shitty opponents :smug:
I don't like the fact that my brother is doing an internship at Gamespot UK and is playing this game more than a week before release to gather footage for the video review.
I remember playing an F1 game many years back with my uncle. Those are the best memories of my childhood gaming AND the best memories I have with mah' uncle. God, this game looks perfect.
Got my wheel

That's worrying.
Why is it that only driving games have epic-ass lighting and lights? The pictures look fucking photo-realistic.
Can't wait for the game. [editline]02:47PM[/editline]
Why is it that only driving games have epic-ass lighting and lights? The pictures look fucking photo-realistic.
Because they don't have to worry about a big world around them, just the track.
There appears to be a large delay between him turning his wheel and that reflecting in the game. That's worrying.
Indeed, I had this with Need for Speed shift and my G27 so I just prefer to use a gamepad for shift now. I hope there is something in the options that allows you to tweak it. I had everything to 0% deadzone and 100% response but still, had a small 1 or 2 second delay and it's really confusing. I don't see what's so hard to make it instant like it is in rfactor...I can only assume it's a side effect of building the game for a console and gamepad feature. I really hope it's fixable.
There appears to be a large delay between him turning his wheel and that reflecting in the game. That's worrying.
It probably is just the animation, the car steers at the moments he does though.
It probably is just the animation, the car steers at the moments he does though.
That's what it looked like to me, I hope so. Anyways that rain footage looked incredible... Soooo can't wait until race weekend now.
Huge F1 weekend! I think considering we're in singapore next week, that'll be the track I will mostly be on.

There's a mod for Need for Speed Shift which fixes it, amongst other things though, the physics overhaul or something like that. Might be worth having a go of that. [editline]04:50PM[/editline]
It probably is just the animation, the car steers at the moments he does though.
No, there's a delay in the steering, it's not just visual. In the left hand chicane at 1:35, the delay's quite clear in the small corrections he makes.
Just learnt this is coming out on the 21st for the US :frown:
Ugh stupid companies and regionalized releases. I know it's supposed to coincide with the local console releases as well, but must they do this on the PC front. Ugh whatever, I still need to purchase and pre-load anyway.
f1 2010 vs monaco real rain Looks very nice compared.

The lag looks just as bad in that video. It's not caused by the dead zone.

Haven't played an F1 game since the n64 days. Might pick this one up.
This wheel is causing me some problems on GRID, hope it doesn't translate to this game.
http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2010/09/16/f1-2010-the-formula-1-game-made-by-f1-fanatics-interview-part-1/ Interesting Q&A with the developers.
