Oh my god. Built in converter. You have won sir. Hard to believe this is only at 0.0.6 and it already heavily rivals HLSS and HLDJ. [editline]08:44PM[/editline] Oh also whenever I scroll through the sounds with PgDown it just goes to one song and stops, so I have to use PgUp to scroll through them all, even then it skips a song or two.

I'm still working on the converter but it should be ready near the end of this week (at least I hope so as I'm going on vacation again). As for Sound Scrolling, there's a small bug when you try to scroll to the first or last sound in the list which causes it to skip a few songs. I've fixed it in my private build (with the converter) along with other fixes and new features. Stay tuned!
Something happened and my mail server was compromised. It's been sending out mass spam e-mails and my entire hosting account has been suspended. I'm talking to support right now. Sorry!
The issue with my mail server has been resolved and the Source Sound Player site is back up and running. I'm heading out to work about now, but in a few hours when I get back I'll be able to work on the converter more and possibly release another beta. Stay tuned.
Damn, this looks tasty. I'll definitely give this a try.
Nice, will try this out. The converter is an especially nice touch, since the hassle of converting and moving files about can discourage me from adding new stuff.
I was expecting a program to listen to your songs with instead of using xfire or windows media player, but overall nice idea but HLSS and HLDJ will still beat this, I'll give it a shot soon ;)

Criticism is always welcome.
So it's basically like hlss? Looks interesting, I'll give this a try.
Just a quick update on the MP3 converter. I've been using LAME so far for conversion from MP3 to WAV. It's been working well but unfortunately cannot easily lower the volume which is probably the main feature of conversion. I have decided to use MAD to convert and enable lowering of volume. This will require a complete rewrite of my wrapper, so a release may take some time.

Bump
Built-in MP3 conversion is useless without more precise volume control and perhaps equalization. The only thing that beats HLDJ so far is that it can show the song name in Source games, although it's not very well-placed (the top-left corner would be better). It's definitely better than HLSS and with some work it could replace HLDJ, but I won't use it without a better way to select songs without binding them to keys. Scrolling is good, but it's not a viable solution with 160 of them. It has potential. I don't know how hard it would be to make an interface in the console to select songs manually, but if I could bind a key to select a random song it would be a nice start.
Sorry for my lack of updates. I've been out of town the past week.
Built-in MP3 conversion is useless without more precise volume control and perhaps equalization. Equalization is on my "To Consider" list. Placement of the Heads Up Display will be improved in future updates to allow for both preset and custom placement options. Further improvements of the Heads Up Display are also being added to the "To Consider" list such as viewing the song list and selecting from that. However, before many of these features are implemented I'll need to rewrite the code into a full OOP solution. Right now it's a hassle to change something as that means going through both my incomplete objects as well as the procedural code to fix all the effects. This has become my top priority and will most likely delay an update short of a small bug fix update. My senior year of high school will be starting this week which will greatly shorten my amount of free time to commit to this project.
i like HLDJ better
If you have any suggestions as to how I can make this better, please let me know. Simply saying "I don't like it" without any argument helps no one.
Finally, now I can play "Blow it out your ass!" on the mic.

When's the next version coming out ?
When's the next version coming out ?
When I finish the in-game website and fix a few more things. Right now the in-game website (I need a name for this feature :P) is bland and boring. I suck at design so if anyone can contribute a decent looking design without images I'd be forever grateful.
Hey i was wondering if you could help me with something. I followed your instructions on setting it up but i cannot get it to work. If SSP is not running, and i press delete, my mic will be binded on, meaning the config file i added to garrysmod is working, correct? Well, when i run SSP and set everything up, i make the file's shortcut delete, then i go into the game and press delete, nothing happens. Any ideas?

The only solution is to change either the sound shortcut or the in-game bind. They can't be the same.
Source Sound Player Selector Screen sounds sweet.
Note taken, will be used until something better is suggested. The website is down right now as my server has been reset completely after a hacker group uploaded phishing pages to it. I'm getting everything reconfigured and it should be back up shortly.
can ya put a alt link or something while it's down?
can ya put a alt link or something while it's down?
-snip- v0.0.5 beta temp link
Very nice work, can you make the program so it automatically updates when you release a new version or dos it already do that?
The server is back online but things are still not working right. Here is a link to the download: http://www.ssp.phreakyourgeek.com/download.php
Yeah can someone give me the link for the config for SSP to work? The site isn't working.
