Weren't we told that food would stack? I can't remember if that was confirmed or if it was speculation.
wait, no more rapid fire bows? fuck this binary I'm deleting.
https://twitter.com/#!/notch/status/89414265441763328 Yep, confirmed. Sorry bro.
Might as well just link to this: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Upcoming_features
This really doesn't need a thread, it's all on the wiki anyways, and that's going to be more update to date then this thread. I can guarantee that. Better yet, the wiki page even has references as proof. Pointless thread.
We need to talk to C418 and assure that we'll get some music this time. Pfft.
I know it's not a feature but the fact that clouds won't be going through buildings in 1.8 makes going higher with buildings a much more inviting idea, especially because the height limit is being increased and that's probably what brought Notch to do it. For sure, I'll be making my fair share of tall structures. Trying to masturbate is hard when you have invading clouds. Total buzz kill.
I already know about the higher height limit from before, but now that it's getting so close to becoming possible in the next update, oh god fuck this is giving me a massive boner just imagine the possibilities just imagine the massive skyscrapers you can create as far as the eye can see, oh man i am cumming
This will be the best update so far. Really looking forward to it
I remember zombie attack anims from Survival Test...
Hmm.. Maybe Notch will get around to adding the stuff from the Halloween update I want my laterns dammit
Can not wait. I'm especially excited for the deeper sea levels. Also, hopefully he will add another optional feature in the future that adds a warmth meter. May sound stupid but it adds to the hardcore feel and it can be a awesome challenge.
I want more stuff in oceans, atleast more than just the stupid squids :v:
This thread is for talking about things already confirmed in 1.8
Boss mobs?
-Monsters will have attack animations
Unless I'm missing some sort of inside joke, you have this listed twice.
Isn't this going to be the last update before release now? Obviously, Notch being Notch, will release 1.8.2.3.1.2.3.1....
Enderman teleportation reminds me of the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who. I'm going to be paranoid building at night time now.
Higher height limit? Possible space mod?
I don't know if the warmer lighting is a good idea. It looks great in some contexts but I could see it ruining some things people have built. Glowstone might be too bulky of an alternative.
Deep oceans, you say? There's your chance to add a boss mob, Notch
Fighting -Arrows stick into mobs -Attacking while sprinting will send mobs flying -Monsters will have attack animations -You can block attacks -Critical hits -Monsters will have attack animations -Charge to fire bows Might wanna fix that OP. Hopefully this update will spark another interest in minecraft for me, I lost all inspiration to even play the game because I'm not creative anymore.
I look forward to the next update. Each major update brings me back to any game I lose interest in. The most namely being Minecraft and Terraria. They are both games that can have their interest levels drop suddenly after a while.
can't wait

I hope Notch won't even announce 90% of the features. That way it keeps you interested by finding new stuff.
I hope Notch won't even announce 90% of the features. That way it keeps you interested by finding new stuff.
I don't think he's ever announced the addition of new bugs.
I don't think he's ever announced the addition of new bugs.
Well, he never does because he knows we can guess that ourselves.
I won't be fond of experience bars in some SMP servers.
I honestly don't see why critical strikes should be added to Minecraft, but I welcome most of the other changes.
