;31920092']You never know. He could remove it. In the past Notch has frowned upon stackable food. When Jens added it around 1.3 Notch told him to remove it.
You never know. He might remove animal farming, but that's in the OP. He might remove critical hits, but that's in the OP.
Millenaire is quite possibly the worst execution of a reasonably cool idea I've ever seen
Let's be honest; the mobs have better AI then the NPCs in Millenaire do.
http://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/jt8wo/18_and_pax/c2ey6ud :tinfoil:
Looks like Steve wont be in Kansas anymore.
Mushrooms.
Books and custom paintings in the future?
The code I write to support that will also be possible to reuse in the future for things like books and notes written by players, and possibly even custom paintings/hand drawn signs.

Would be cool if it worked sort of like source engine sprays. Craft painting, put image file into a menu, and bam, it outputs a custom painting.
The mushrooms and villages look awful
I don't know if Notch said he was gonna add this to the 1.8 update. But months ago he mentioned 14 new music discs.Should that be added to the list?
I already know about the higher height limit from before, but now that it's getting so close to becoming possible in the next update, oh god fuck this is giving me a massive boner just imagine the possibilities just imagine the massive skyscrapers you can create as far as the eye can see, oh man i am cumming
If I can do a 1024 block high map, then I plan on doing the Burj Khalifa,
I don't know if Notch said he was gonna add this to the 1.8 update. Many developers do this, it's just how much of an impact the idea has that gets it into the game.
I don't know if Notch said he was gonna add this to the 1.8 update. But months ago he mentioned 14 new music discs.Should that be added to the list?
He said that the game now supports 14 music discs, but they aren't actually in the game yet.
He said that the game now supports 14 music discs, but they aren't actually in the game yet.
That's what I meant. He says he's gonna add the discs in the future.
If I can do a 1024 block high map, then I plan on doing the Burj Khalifa,
Decided also on Taipei 101.
OP, you are missing ALOT.
what's with the default height still being 128? i thought notch had managed to get biomes to work with 512-block tall worlds
what's with the default height still being 128? i thought notch had managed to get biomes to work with 512-block tall worlds
He has, in fact, in 1.8, a value in level.dat can be changed to change the world height. The only reason he isn't making the default any higher is because of lag issues (twice as much stuff in memory), and he doesn't want to do it a shit, half-assed way.
Would be cool if it worked sort of like source engine sprays. Craft painting, put image file into a menu, and bam, it outputs a custom painting.
dicks on the wall everywhere I can see it happening.
dicks on the wall everywhere I can see it happening.
It happens like that in source games too. Besides, it's not like people can't already make obscene imagery with their character skin.
Isn't that the way he does most things tought?
No.

That is one thing I'm absolutely sure of, since the level.dat is created AFTER a world is made. It would probably be in the server jar somewhere.
He said that you will have to modify the world generator. Although I'd rather see it as an option in the settings tab, like a switch between 128/256, would be easier and without need to create a mod.
actually yes i don't see the issue with having a drop down menu that asks you "NORMAL WORLD??? TALL WORLD???" edit: seeing how notch hasn't even bothered adding an exit button to the game it's probably just a dream i guess
It happens like that in source games too. Besides, it's not like people can't already make obscene imagery with their character skin.
Not like this. Walk into your castle. paintings of goatse, gore and other fucked up shit everywhere.

http://twitter.com/#!/notch/status/93295073374113792
The level height in Minecraft now depends on a single field in the Level class, for easier modding. The default will remain 128, though.
God, if it's a single field then what's so fucking hard about a menu button.
http://twitter.com/#!/notch/status/93295073374113792 God, if it's a single field then what's so fucking hard about a menu button.
Thanks, there will probably be a mod to change that anyways! I must have got my memory confused because of the "Level class", which must have, over time, become distorted in my memory to Level.dat - thanks again!
Well you're right, but why mod when the dev can make it easily as an option.
We mustn't question notch's superior logic
You never know. He might remove animal farming, but that's in the OP. He might remove critical hits, but that's in the OP.
Are you daft? #1 he confirmed them, removing them now would go against his word and would lose a ton of players. Its a horrible idea for developers to announce their ideas/plans then take them all back. Just ask garry. Removing critical hits now would hurt his reputation and credibility. Notch is smart. He knows this. #2 I didn't add those to the list. If you're going to go making a point, try to blame something on me that I actually did. I don't know anything about animal farming. I haven't heard a thing about it, actually. Raptor added it. I have no idea where he got his source, or if he even has one. I wouldn't remove anything that someone else did if I didn't know they true or not. Sorry if I sound a bit harsh. Partially because I'm mad, and partially because I'm being truthful. [editline]25th August 2011[/editline]
The mushrooms and villages look awful
I have to agree about the mushrooms. I kind of like the villages, though. Well ehh... I haven't seen them close enough, so I don't know exactly what to make of them.
