Goddammit not being able to compile is driving me nutsss. I press Go/run but the window closes and nothing happens.
I wish they would fix the map downloads.
Mr. ilikeHL2 I find it brilliant that you know so much about mapping in Alien Swarm. Care to make a tutorial or nice summary for all these things?? Easier to look up for people (like me) that don't know everything. And the Developer Wiki doesn't mention PDA's and the spawn behavior sadly.. Oh, I heard someone mention that it's possible to hide Swarm inside those breakable boxes. :v:
hey megathread you're too mega for me to find it but is anyone else crashing with no error message before it gets to the menu, is there a way to fix it, already tried verifying etc

And yeah for the model I was. And I'd still like to figure out how to get that to work.

I'll do it later, and if there was a mapping knowledge thread thing for Alien Swarm in the mapping section I'd put it all in there but there isn't. Oh and I'll write about the boxes when I'm done doing the dishes.

Can someone tell me what changed in the SDK? I just came back from a 5-day trip and I am totally lost.

The map will be in the maps folder for the addon folder so it knows. If you're not doing it like an addon you need to put the mail file in the mail folder in the swarm resource stuff. Doing it as an addon makes moving stuff easy but its a pain in the ass.

There's also three 'promotions' you can do when you reach max level, where you lose all your equipment and go back to Level 1 in exchange for a fancy medal in the loadout screen. This otherwise has no game benefits whatsoever other than doing what the CODMW1&2 games did with prestige in an attempt to give it more replay value.
