Don't know if late but killing swarm.
Goddammit how do they do that.
I can't get a single player model to work and yet they have four and a soundpackk.
what do you guys use as your custom battle music?
WarHammer 40K Dawn of War 2 music.
PURGE THE ALIEN SCUMM
I use

fits perfectly.
It just occurred to me to rip the music off my Quake 2 disk.
And anyone know how to make it so I can get hammer to compile? It isn't compiling it for me.
I press Go/run but the window closes and nothing happens.
well, i'm progressing
Alone in the Dark, eh?
I can't even get in a game. :saddowns:
As soon as I try to join one, everyone votekicks me. EVERY. FUCKING. TIME.
ill play with you :h:
Can anyone help me? I'm trying to create a room with one of the auto turret things (like the one outside the reactor room)? I've spawned to entities, but they never do anything in the map. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm a total fan of the first three games

The controllable ones?
Make a computer set up (Panel assigned to a computer trigger)
then make a asw_remote_turret and give it a name.
Set the computer trigger to not be locked and under Turret1 name put the name of the asw_remote_turret. Easy as dicks.
Other then that there is 'asw_sentry_top_machinegun' which is like a sentry turret you put down, cept it's not movable and has no ammo limit.
I use this as my custom battle music

It oddly fits.
I'm trying to manually compile my map by using vbsp.exe in cmd but it keeps bitching that it can't find Gaminfo.txt when I point it to both the "alien swarm" folder and the "swarm" folder.
Goddammit this is getting very annoying.

I wouldn't be surprised if it fit well.
That's an excellent idea, I think I could do it, if someone could tell me how I should repack TF2 content
I'm pretty sure if you just use the .bsp from pl_badwater and compile it in hammer with the according asw_group_spawners and an info_player_start, it should work fine. But since TF2 is an orange box engine game, that may cause some issues.
Music that is opposite in tone/mood to the game always fits. Try Walking on sunshine, or something of that nature. Also, calming music would fit this game. It is like pendulum to frag fits; Always works.

Has a download for the latest alpha (Includes the controllable turret I forgot to remov, whoopie)
I really wish there was a way you could view the previous battle summary without being in the game. Because there are a lot of times where I would just barely finish a mission, and I would like to look back at the stats to see the choke points, and look for patterns in maps. But everyone wants to just head on to the next game.
I'm all for going to the next batch of fun, but I would like some feature that shows your previous game summary.

I thought Valve provided the VMF. Let me check

yeah, they do provide the VMF, so it should be easy to convert
My friend wants to know what the ESRB rating is before he plays it. -_- Anyone know what it is?

NR
There was no ESRB review.
Cool.
Hey there, guy who did the whole "Deathmatch" thing here. Well Deathmatch was starting to get old hat and making an entire campaign leading from one arena to the next was kind of fun but also kind of boring.
So I wanted to make something synesthetic... And here's what we got in just an hour:

Thoughts?
I don't know if this has been posted before, but I found these console commands to be very useful, they do not require sv_cheats either:
asw_fast_reload_under_marine 1
asw_auto_reload 0
The first line puts the "fast reload" bar under your character so it is much easier to see.
The second line disables auto reload, so you can choose to reload at the most opportune time.
Just put these in autoexec.cfg

This would most certainly be an M-rated game. Aliens exploding into gore, the main characters often being chopped down in bloody fashion, and of course the good ol' parasite explosions.
Does anyone have a cfg for maximum performance?

It looks like it would distract the gameplay but looks nice nevertheless.

I am absolutely amazed by the statistics they keep for you in your alien swarm stats. It records absolutely everything, including your favorite setup and you next unlock.
my AS just updated :raise:
[editline]03:31AM[/editline]
Matchmaking distinguishes between games in progress and games in the briefing
Updated Hammer’s simple compile options
Fixed fast reload sounds and incidental marine conversations
I just played a survival map called deep freeze and it was pretty fun..
This game's offline practice is driving me nuts, I run out of ammo every damn time.
Is there any console settings to disable fog or the aliens' guts exploding? Or anything else horribly lag-inducing? because my laptop just cannot seem to handle the graphics very well, and I just could not work very well at the elevator in the offline practice map, my aim was stuttering all over the damn place.
