People say they cannot make minimaps because there's no VTF program that supports version 7.5. However this tutorial [url]http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Swarm_Overview_Map[/url] talks about using "Swarm texture importer". I suppose that can create the VTF files as it's in the tutorial.
Is anyone else noticing the [I]huge[/I] influx of CoD retards? It's like every game all I see is ^6ima^7MLGNIGGA^1dawg and all I hear is "IM DA ONE HOLDIN DA TEAM TOGETHA YO, GET ON MY LEVEL". Meanwhile I'm the only one actually doing anything useful.

Hey - I feel kinda stupid for making a change to clientshadowmgr without thinking ahead, and now I can't get the client to compile. Could someone post the original code for it, from the little section beginning at line 1395? Here's the (dumb) modified code, if it helps. My mind, it is blown. I left for a ten day vacation in Colorado with no computer access expecting the release of the TF2 Polycount pack and nothing else. I return home and notice nothing new until a window popped up saying TF2 was finished downloading. I was looking for the polycount stuff, but instead I say TF2 product update for the new hat which I figured was another trash update to promote some third party game. Gay huh? Then I thought, hey, I've got a few bucks, why don't I see how much this game is? I open up the Steam store. I search Alien Swarm. I had to swap boxers. This is why I <3 Valve, releasing a full blown game without trying to make a single penny off it.

By the way, when I leave my Alien Swarm on and my screen goes black (due to idling on a long, long video :v:) how come when I join any server I lose connection shortly after? It only ever happens when this happens, if I restart AS it works fine. What the hell? :confused:
The flamethrower is awesome. Went through the Cargo Elevator on Normal with two other people (One was Tech, the other an Officer) as a Special Weapons with the second autogun and the flamethrower. Needless to say I hate autoguns now, but my other two teammates died and I had to take the elevator with barely half health, one shot of adrenaline, and flamethrower skills that would make pyros weep. Even more awesome thing is that I survived and beat the level myself - only for the game to boot me from the server to my own server and try to make me restart the entire level. :sigh:

It's a fucking godsend to be able to just quickstun 10 more guys now, because I never used it for the damage. If you're not trying to bypass everything, it still serves its purpose. Stun, switch weapons, shoot back of shieldbug, switch back, stun, etc. Honestly I don't see the nerf of being able to quick tazer twice the amount of bugs.

I'm currently making a map, and I couldn't find anything on the wiki, but how would I make an event only start once all the currently available players are in a certain area/have passed a certain point? Any help would be much appreciated.

I just realized that the Tesla Gun nerf and bitching about it being a support weapon was completely pointless - it wasn't something just for Techs and Medics, all four classes could use it and it served well as a primary weapon. But nooo, it's gotta be a support weapon since it stuns enemies and all. What next, they'll nerf the flamethrower because it kills enemies too good? Bah.

Hey, could someone familiar with the sourcecode help me out? I'm trying to figure out where to change the env_projectedtexture's shadowmap resolution, but nothing's worked so far.
I tried making a tileset and it ended up as a fullbright looking bloomfest :frown:

I can understand increasing it whenever enabling -tools for source filmmaker, but why not have a default limit of like 4? Or maybe even have it modifiable with console commands? More importantly, why have a hardcoded shadowmap resolution as well? It'd really make more sense to have convars for both of these, IMO. Grrr the last two times I've joined a full server, everyone is deciding which class to be so I quickly pick one that isn't Medic. Then my idiotic team members do the same and we all quickly die. I've been playing nothing but Medic for the past week and I would finally like to play tech or something sometime.
