I found a video featuring all of the aliens not in the game. I think they can somehow be implemented in custom maps like the queen was. It would be interesting to see.
Obvious spinoff of Alien Swarm :saddowns:
alien breed was made in the 90s, bro.
Obvious spinoff of Alien Swarm :saddowns:
It's not their fault they announced it and were ready to release and then Valve went HEY WE MADE A BETTER ONE FOR FREE! It is their fault it's a piece of shit, though.
Alien Swarm updated itself, I go to Alien Swarm in my games list to see the update news and I see this: Help
Bah nobody ever plays this anymore :frown: I thought it was an amazing game too..
Lack of official content and no practical way of downloading/playing custom ones tend to that. [editline]12:28AM[/editline]
Obvious spinoff of Alien Swarm :saddowns:
Yeah, totally... Hey, I hear Valve are making more campaigns, can someone confirm?
Why has this thread just died, this game is really awesome, play with friends, even better.
Hey, I hear Valve are making more campaigns, can someone confirm?
It's not confirmed, they hadn't ever said anything like that. However it would make sense it they were. It only shipped with 1 campaign, and at the end of the first level the debriefing states a container ship left the planet without broadcasting it's I.D. codes and followed an unpredictable path, causing the IAF to lose track of it. My guess is that the ship is infested with Swarm. Perfect set-up for some DLC. Aside from that, they seem to know Swarm well, they treat it as if it's nothing new, still a major issue, but they aren't all "Holy shit aliens have invaded!", they're more like "Well Swawm has taken the whole colony, looks like we're gonna have to sterilize it.". This makes it seem like they've been dealing with the Swarm for awhile now. So fighting Swarm elsewhere is also possible.
Story-wise, Swarm has been around for a shitload of time. Some of the character's profiles (Wildcat, Sarge) deal with the previous swarm encounters. Actually, it seems that the swarm is usually fought by an actual army, rather than 4 elite commando's, who are usually used for quick mission, like blowing up the nuke.
Anyone else think it would've been better if the parasite could've only been acquired if you completed ALL the achievements, I know thats a tad extreme, but it would have stopped the hundreds or so of players who played once just for the hat and stopped playing after they got it. It would have also meant people playing would have been more experienced as there would be a lot more people trying out the insane difficulty etc.
I think that the hat trick should only be available when you are playing with two players, only and above easy.
The game has been epically successful, but at a party a ran into some friends who hadn't heard of it. And these are sci-fi nerd friends who use Steam, love Valve, and are looking forward to Portal 2. It made me realize that without the normal promotion we do, the game can get lost in this echo chamber of tight gamer forums and blogs. So I'm recruiting you. The game is free and all I ask in compensation is that you turn a friend on to it. Find someone who you think should know about it, but for whatever reason doesn't, and tell them to download it. Really stretch outside your inner circle of gamers... hit the Twitters, the Facebooks, and even IRLs. That's right, talk to someone at your school or your workplace. Email your older brother. Throw a flier up on your community bulletin board. Spread this message far and wide and lets see how far we can take word of mouth. Thanks. :)

Did any one work with one model and using $texturegroup skinfamilies to have different skin color ???
Where are the models located in the AS SDK?
Does anyone else's game freeze for seconds at a time when you enable multicore rendering? It does for me and my friend, and it's fucking annoying because my CPU is weaksauce when it's using only one core. Any idea if Valve are gonna fix this?
I did it as a VPK I redesign the character I work with the class color now, But not don't know why doesn't work with the back pack =="
Brutal is actually pretty fuckin hard. I had no problem beating the game on insane (finished it once on normal and then skipped hard straight to insane) but brutal is a whole new beast. Your guns do very little damage to aliens so by 3/4 of the level everybody's run out of ammo (even if 2 people carry ammo) and then you get raped. [editline]12:32AM[/editline] Onslaught is pretty fun. Full ff damage is annoying though.
Utter shit computer represent
