Alien Swarm: Source Megathread v2 - what's in these eggs OH GOD

It makes people who think they're not even working on Ep3 think otherwise.
Which is awesome.
Infinite ammo exploit fixed :argh:
After reading the AS wiki about the tesla, I found out that it doesn't kill infections but slow them down. Still nice though.
Ever since the update, my Alien Swarm fails to startup.
Any download link for this map?

It does kill.
Valve, I'm dissapointed. You didn't fix the desktop crash.
But they did give us more episode 3 evidence.

I'm not that good with hammer but wouldn't it be possible to trigger alpha on the upper levels of the house so when you walk up the stairs you see whats on the upper floor but when you go back down it becomes invisible?

This just in: Gabe Newell's face appears on toast.

Yesterday I was playing and one of my friends got infected so I blasted my tesla in front of the parasite and it didn't help at all.
I am telling you, somebody port the UT2004 versions of campaigns, or ask if they are going to. The game mechanics are 90% the same, so they gonna fit well. There were like 4+ fully blown campaigns, which were if I remember well all longer than the AS:S basic one.
It's not Alien Swarm: Source. It is just Alien Swarm.

It does kill.
Is it supposed to be a feature when sometimes you get hit and then the screen spazzes out?
It better not be, you can't see shit.
Also is there any other way to get the parasites off of people other than wasting tons of health healing them?
I heard the tesla gun got them off, but then I tried it with no success.

It does kill the parasite but the person still needs to be healed.

When he's on the bottom floor of the house at the beginning of the video, his view is blocked by the top floor. That's the "limitation" I was talking about.
I wonder if someone could whip up something to make it so that floors that you currently are not on are invisible.
Well we can't really do much since the game isn't designed for leveled floors and I don't even think the source engine is capable of doing things like that. However in half life 2 wars transparency was possible.
I just sent an email asking Gabe about the thing in the ASSDK
"It isn't possible in a source game, but here is an example of it being done."
Sorry, I had to point that out.

Only stupid would be surprised by this. Valve started to develop EP3 in 2006. If they are quiet about it, doesn't mean that they are not making it. Half Life 2 was announced in mid 2003, but development process started in 1998.
Anyone having issues with the model viewer saying that certain folders do not exist?
We need help on alien swarm.. The game loads then crashes back to the desktop!

Stop trying to play with my words. I said "I don't think that it was possible" did I honestly say I did as if I knew it as a fact?

I'm surprised to see something actually Ep3 related in the game files.
*The irony.
It's a shame they didn't use this in their own campaign.

Dog looking into the cockpit animation in ep2
Finished Jacob's Rest on Easy difficulty. I was Officer because of Vindicator which is a super, effective shotgun, making almost instant kills. Even it was on Easy, I still had problems with my teammates; a player, who was Techie, was being a slow slug because of his ping, which was over 200, and used to die a lot because he wasn't aware of Parasites presence. Medic tried to save him, but that slug on LSD was running around like Usain Bolt on amphetamine and shooting us, thinking we were the enemy. It was good when he ragequit after failing on Timor Station, final mission of Jacob's Rest campaign, and then another player with 200+ ping joined my game but he was reasonable and good with teamwork but the latency bothered him and us, at least we finished that last mission. I ended up being level 7 with average accuracy of 73.42%.
It's a good game. Four player coop is good. I liked how they added gameplay tips; for example giving new players that they should start with Easy difficulty. I started with Intense and I was the prime root of bad teamwork 'cause I didn't knew how to heal and cure infestations. It's hard to get used to play with overhead viewpoint since I'm a FPS gamer, at least we can see where aliens are coming from.

Could you rephrase that so a normal person can understand what you mean by this completely terribly phrased sentence?
