Can I get some help? I installed Sikkmod for Doom 3, but everything is just ridiculously blurry, I can barely see anything without straining my eyes. Is it meant to be like that?
I'm not sure but maybe try to disable motion blur from the sikkmod options menu.

I disabled everything. The game still looks horribly blurry. Is it an issue with Win7 64bit?
No, there's no compatibility issues like that.
Odd, I'll reinstall Sikkmod and then try again.

Fixed the issue, but now Sikkmod just lags like hell.
So, call me a numpty, but what can the community actually do with the Source Code that couldn't already be done?

i have a copy of this too
i think its the same as psx doom
it has doom 1 and 2 in it
What a terrible port. I can remember the huge lag it had.
Why? I wasn't bothered at all.
maybe its because im bad, maybe its because im playing on ultraviolence, the first two levels were just annoying somehow
the first was just kind of difficult when i think about it and the second was annoying because i started with 30 health
so its p much my own fault either way
Well E4 IS pretty damn difficult.
e4m8 was disappointingly easy compared to the rest of the chapter

This. People tell me to turn off the Catalyst Ai. Is that anything like the "AMD VISION Engine Control Centre"?

Doom 3 is okay but for most Doom fans it doesn't feel like it's Doom. Instead it feels more like some kind of Doom-based horror game.

The Demo doesn't work on anything newer than XP and it can't be fixed with compatibility settings or adding a missing file.
It simply won't work, at all. End of story.

Doom 3 is a great game. It gets a little repetitive in the middle, but the beginning and end are fantastic. The vanilla graphics still look good, and the gunplay is solid.
Doom 3 has a lot of pretty blah parts but as I've said before, the hell level and ending make up for it.
How the hell do I fix this shadow circle thing?

Just finished the XBLA episode in Doom 2.
Now my avatar has a snazzy new marine outfit. But to be honest, the last level creeped me out badly. Everything is a maze of tall, thin tunnels, with a Cyberdemon chasing you through them. You get plenty of ammo, but so many times i jumped because i ran around a corner straight into it.
Is there a .wad of that floating around the internet? I'd like to download and play it.
This might be it.
Removed Link.
But i dunno, im not on our computer that has Doom.
That should be it but I think it may count as warez so you might want to snip it to be safe.
Doom is opensource, countless WADs are made, that is more of a mod than anything. I don't think that is what they're selling anyway so I think it's fine.

I spose, Take_Opal already has the link now anyway.
Besides, took me like 2 seconds on Google to get it so if anyone else wants it thats where they can get it.

The WADs aren't open source though. That's why you're still supposed to purchase Doom legitimately before using a source port.

Then if you have then there should be no problem.
But you're supposed to purchase NRFtL too. But since it hasn't officially been released on PC I'm not 100% sure on whether or not it'd count as warez. Might be a good idea to ask a mod on that one actually.

To be honest I can see why they changed it, and I loved Doom 3. Doom's gameplay doesn't hold up as well these days since the current FPS trends are based around more "realistic" slower based FPS action like CoD or Battlefield. I think Painkiller was the last game to do a Doom-style gameplay really well. Serious Sam, eh, it's alright, takes it a little too far. I never liked slaughter wads in Doom and that's all SS really is, just tons and tons of monsters. The latest Painkiller was like that and I didn't really like it, every stage was basically you vs 300-500 enemies in a way too small space.
The E3 alpha version of Doom 3:

In my opinion, this version is much more 'Doomy' than the released version of Doom 3. If the E3 alpha hadn't been leaked to the public we would've gotten this.
