The one with the green-blue background was by far the best one imo. So much less intrusive than the all-white one.
You are joking right? The XMB is a menu that goes across the top and the options go verticle for each section. The new Dashboard does the exact same thing. Except instead of text, they are images. To me, and i'm sure many other, there are similarities. And of course it looks like the Metro UI they "are pushing for WP7 and Win8". Doesn't mean they don't look similar to something else.
Really? Really? you ever take pause to notice how similar Destop OSes are... Windows: Mac: Ubuntu(just taking for example of a linux distro, using Gnome GUI): Let's look at the similarities: -Icons -Context menus -Some form of Taskbar(if not more than one) - same basic layout -etc. etc. Where as those consoles tend to have quite different styles, and frankly, the new Metro UI integration for Xbox is fantastic, because it's a different concept that WORKS (look at Windows phone, it's FAR more functional than iPhone) I find it quite funny that you don't complain about the OSx/Win/Lin similarities, but if you grow the idea in your head that two consoles look in any way shape or form similar, one is a bliatant ripoff of the other... well done
I don't really mind this one. I mean hell, I don't spend more than a few seconds on the dashboard, so it doesn't really matter at all.
I liked the first dashboard. It was simple, ergonomic, and most importantly felt like an actual xbox dashboard. With the second version they just downright copied the ps3/psp style, the third version was the same version only uglier, and now this. At least with the actual dashboard you still had a controller version AND a kinect version, here it looks like it's made for Kinect only. How am I going to go through that with a damn DPAD. Probably a matter of security. The PSN got recently hacked, mainly because sony decided to cut funds on the online's security. Since the very beginning of the ps3 and xbox 360 it has always appeared to me that Microsoft had put much more effort into customer service than sony.
are you kidding me there are plenty of free, reliable online gaming networks. one insecure example does not a trend make microsoft makes buttloads off of all the games they sell, acting like there's anything other than a profit motive for charging for xbox live is absurd
Original dashboard was the best IMO
Original Dashboard was the worst IMO.
Original dashboard was the best IMO
By original dashboard you mean the one with the blades or the brick's dashboard.
If anyone wants to see what it looks like they were showing it off at E3 They probably have made a few changes since then but it will be about the same.
Really? They're slapping bing in there? I'm going to go ahead and never use that feature out of morals.
I did read the previous pages, that doesn't change the fact the millions of xbox players allow and welcome this bullshit.
Oh if you have it on good authority from millions you must be right...If not a single person in this thread likes 'upgrading' dashboards does that imply welcoming it. I'd much rather have the original dash with blades where everything was simple rather than 'sleek' looking which is another way of saying everything is square and glides for no apparent reason.
