Just made a bot that is working so well. Kinda stole the design of a existing bot but nevertheless it rips other bots apart. It has a massive vertical disc with 2 hammerheads mounted on it. Reminds me of the Robot wars game in which there were fantastic traps, like in the subway level you could knock people onto an escalator which for some reason would kill them. And the catapult doors. And the nuclear missile in the Moscow level. Oh well, this looks like fun.

I was inspired by Bowser_nl's Backlash/Nightmare-ish spinner so much that I made something similar! Kind of.. Sort of.. Not really that similar, but you get my point. FFFFFFFFFFF I keep getting a run time error when I try to play with the DSL mod.

Anyone else hate those damn ninja-swords? They seem a tad bit over-powered, one good hit with one of those and my robot is in pieces.

I have all the DSL parts and stuff, but it looks like normal Robot Arena for me.

Another good thing is if they attack you from the side they get hit aswell. Build a third discbot. After "OMG Disc" and "WTF Disc" I present you "LOL Disc" [img]http://members.lycos.nl/cenf01/loldisc.jpg[/img] Basicly a massive extra large version of OMG Disc. It does incredible amounts of damage (hits over 4k sometimes) with its huge disc, but i had to sacrifise strength and stability to keep it under 800kg. Install DSL 2.1 Patch ([url]http://gametechmods.com/?do=DSL_Install_Tut_Download21[/url]) And if that don't work, go to your Infogrames properties and uncheck the read only thing.

Okay, installing the CD version now, and going to use the 'better' CD version of DSL If it works out.

I made a bot yesterday that is my most damaging bot yet. I've hit over 8k with it: [img]http://members.lycos.nl/cenf01/lmaodisc.jpg[/img] 2 70kg hammers on a disc driven by the most powerful engine = ouch Bonus, a scorpionbot i made which isn't the most devestating bot around but it's fun to play with. Grab bots with your claws and sting with the tail. It works great vs flippers because with the tail you can flip yourself back on your wheels. [img]http://members.lycos.nl/cenf01/scorpio.jpg[/img]

Holy fuck I used to love this game! I liked making wedge bots with picks on the back of them, so I would drive under people, flip them over then stab the shit out of the underside.

hey everyone, i just registered here. i installed Robot Arena 2 yesterday (full DSL conversion) and i am really confused when it comes to building robots. i mean i used to play Robot Wars Extreme Destruction so this is a huge change. can anyone explain it in details? i know someone posted a tutorial a few pages back but most of the images wont load.

Also they should make a RA3 damnit.

well i have done exactly that just before i came here and i made a test bot (just to test movement) and it worked. now i have to figure out how to make and connect weapons. EDIT: my weapon keeps falling over. how can i stop it from doing that?

I FUCKING HATE EMERGENCY, THAT BOT CAN GO EAT A DICK I hope I still have this on my computer. I made a bot once that could actually [b]sometimes[/b] beat Emergency. It was a big ol' weight-limit-tempting beast called Mike Mulligan. He was circular, had three pairs of spinning spiked maces around his side, and my general strategy was to spin his big ass around at top speed while rotating those maces, and it would actually do insane amounts of damage. His only weakness was getting flipped over, but he was so damn heavy that that rarely happened, even against Emergency. Also had a pretty sweet middleweight whose weapon was pretty much just a piston with two ball maces at the end. Sounds simple, but it beat the shit out of just about everything. My favorite bot to fight is that one that looks like a monster truck with two swinging axes on top. I could charge at him full speed, fire the piston, and crack off both of his front wheels with one strike. After that, I either wait for the time limit to run down, or push him into a trap or something if I feel like being a dick. I've never been able to make an effective lightweight. They're so damn tricky. You just can't have power, stability, and speed at the same time. You can pick two at most.

finally made a spinner bot and i started getting runtime errors. anyone had this problem? how can i solve it?

I don't know about the first game, but the second one has awesome glitchy physics. Knock parts off of your opponent, then drive near the discarded parts to propel yourself into the ceiling! Basically broken parts have a tendency to exert a constant massive force-push on everything within a certain radius. It's irregular though, so you may drive close enough to a part to touch it before it launches you across the arena.
