We shouldn't all focus on a single attachment, I still think the most important thing is optimization right now, but thats just me

I agree, but I have no idea how to optimize Unity
Tobba says one of the biggest performance hits is that the game keeps all rooms in memory, so if you go out to infinite rooms you'll lag like shit. There's also no LOD on the entities so bullet piles really drag performance and instantiation of objects hangs every time you enter a room because of Unity's awful threading
How are you guys importing this into unity?

I forked my own repository btw.

I don't really know how we want to do this but I guess ask me for permission to check in
If someone needs Unity Pro, PM.
you mean a license or just a copy?
License. You can get a copy from the official site.
I dicked around with how the game looks.
Y/N?

What, it's like $1500
-snip-
I was watching the Mythbuster's episode on movie gun myths earlier, and I realized that the Mac10 would be a really simple gun to add in (I think).
It's a pretty simple/ugly gun, very blocky. And it'd be a good first automatic weapon. So it'd be simple to model, and probably simple to code in and animate.
Then again, I've never worked with unity or this game, so I don't know.

They gave away pro (with android and IOS licenses, I think) accounts for unity for free
You don't get any updates with them though

No they didn't, they gave away extended trials. Try building something with it, you'll see "trial version" in the corner

Really?

That looks like a full license purchase, I never tested it though (have finish to learning javascript)

That isn't pro, it just says Unity. It's a Unity Free license with Android and iOS basic add-ons. Unity always calls the free version Unity and the pro version Unity Pro:

They gave away free android and ios licenses a while ago but not Pro.
Oh
Now I see

How does another room sound? Complete with bullet piles, player spawns, lights and enemies!
how can indie devs afford that?
how can indie devs afford that?
I'm pretty sure Wolfire has enough money to buy Unity Pro a couple times over
I think the free version is for indie devs, and they have to do hacky stuff like projectors in place of dynamic lighting
There's a couple of different ways to do dynamic lighting in Unity. Somebody on the community site released a unity free version dynamic lightning script a while back.

When I get home from school, I'm gonna take a look at adding new weapons in, but I have a feeling that because if the way this is coded it's not going to be easy without rewriting large parts of the code, and then we're pretty much making a whole new game.

That's not necessarily the hard part. It's just accomodating new weapons with the inventory system

Oh ok, Im not sure because I didn't look into it too much yesterday. But I'll put in a github request and start committing changes. Unfortunately the day has just started so I won't be home for another 7 hours
I feel like this has a lot of modding potential.

I don't think you've been following the story closely enough. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone who hasn't listening to all the tapes / finished the game, but adding people would conflict with what's been established in those tapes.
how can indie devs afford that?
$1500 is still really cheap for licensing an engine

One of these babies?

I approve.
a mini-14 is the perfect addition to the name
i was worried someone was going to start adding in something DUMB like an ar-15 or some other overused assault rifle and not some classy carbine that would have a little bit more purpose
