and from a gameplay perspective a revolver does add a lot. you don't need magazines to reload them although you can use a speed loader. they have pretty different way of operation from semi automatics as well, i'd say as much as a shotgun.
i think if you got the controls right adding a revolver would be awesome.
For one, bullets would be exactly the same. It would really be no different from the colt aside from looking different and having a cylinder in place of a magazine
It's just a different way of dispensing a single bullet, I don't think it's worth adding personally. I think having one firearm of each type would be better.

just give me optimization and kill drops. i want the fuckin thing to be light fullmat or whatever it's called. it's unnecessarily dark in this game.
Well to be honest the gun mechanics are only a small fragment of the gameplay
There needs to be way more variation in the levels, a couple new enemies, things like that, not a multitude of new guns.

when it comes down to it though i'd really like a steady decent framerate at a resolution that isn't complete shit. i'm certain it's the lighting.
yeah but it was the exact same gun, even fired the .223 lapua magnum
personal favorite. honestly i think it was really awesome that they made one of the best bullet based pistols in the game a shout out to blade runner.

These all move up the screen when a new one is added and slide in and out of the side. These are only meant for short messages, but I'll work on adding back in the achievement notices with images tomorrow.

seriously, even just the shooting range.
in this game shooting and reloading and all that shit is fun enough for me. it's so awesome to rapid fire a mag, eject and drop it quickly then put a new mag in and release the silde and continue to rapid fire.
i could do that rinse and repeat for ever and i wouldn't get tired of it.

I know this is quite the bump, but David has been slowly updating the code for Receiver. The source is fully open, and if you download it and recompile it you can actually try out the new revolver he's been adding. They also added new Colt textures, and a flashlight.

Actually, I just noticed they are giving a beta test of RC6 out right now to Overgrowth pre-orderers. Check the last page of the Receiver thread in the secret preorder forum, I'm downloading it right now :D

Overgrowth is higher on their developing priorities then Receiver is, and they release updates for that every week.

I was just thinking about this game earlier. A revolver sounds like just the thing to make me play for a few more hours.
