Sometimes if I see a turret not moving in the distance, I can walk up to it and it wont start moving, if I keep looking at it all the time. Then I can simply shoot the camera and be gone.
For turrets, it's generally: Shoot them in the back of their base to completely disable them. Shoot them in the front of the base to kill their motor, but they can still shoot you if you walk in front of them. Shoot them in the camera will stop them from seeing you, but the turret can still move unless you do something else to it. I'm pretty sure if you shoot them in the green part, it disables their gun, so they can still lock on to you and follow you around the room, but they're harmless.
Shooting them in the green gun part is easiest for me, trouble is the only way you can tell if the gun's actually disabled or not is if you see the green spark, which is easy to miss. [editline]11th September 2012[/editline] then i toy with them with the revolver.
The problem here is that when you disable the gun, but the turret already had a bullet loaded in the chamber it can still fire that one bullet with the gun being broken so yeah, gotta be careful there.
that's never happened to me, i usually don't shoot at them when they see me.
Sorry for bringing this thread back. I realize the game has kind of died down.. but I was playing while my internet died, and I finally beat it. The game started me off with a glock, a light, and some decent amount of bullets. As I went on I had so many close encounters. And the last tape was in a room filled with turrets. There were at least 5 of them in one small room. Managed to disable them all and collect the final tape. As I absorbed the tape the screen faded to white, then I got to watch a slideshow. I'm so proud of myself.
i really wish this game's popularity didn't die down it's fun as fuck
this thing im downloading says rc7.. wasn't last build rc4?
So... I remember a bunch of people boasting about how they made a shotgun, shooting range, other guns i forget about... have you guys given up on receiver?
Last mod I was aware of. I sent Protocol7 (Can't remember if his FP name is the same here.) my Saiga shotgun model to use in Receiver but he never actually did anything with it. Which makes me quite sad indeed. Funny enough just today I was looking for Receiver mods and re-downloaded the game to play again. [editline]19th March 2013[/editline] Turns out yes his name here is the same.
why does this game run like shit on my computer, it doesn't seem like it would. Overgrowth runs fine for the most part.

[editline]19th March 2013[/editline] Also your Avatar freaks me the fuck out.
Aaaaaaaaaaand its now on steam.
Can't think of a better [del]play[/del] PLACE for it to be I'm tired and I can't spell :v:
Bought this today, played it. I don't last further than maybe 15 minutes because of those gotta go fast zappybots that are impossible to hit. I never was very good at skeet shooting. Very interesting mechanic and I hope something more comes from this.
I get the feeling that this game with the Occulus Rift would blow my mind off of my body.
Some finish that shotgun mod. I beg of you.
I bought this today and had a lot of fun with it. If only for my own ineptitude, coincidently cycling all the rounds from my gun, trying to reload but drop the magazine. The revolver is the only gun I don't have problems with and can reload fairly quickly :v:
I get the feeling that this game with the Occulus Rift would blow my mind off of my body.
I can see it being well received.
I can see it being well received.
Oh you... :v:
Is it bad that I want receiver to get tetris inventory? Think of the possibilties! Multiple guns! T blocks! Line pieces!
I want more content. I'd pay for it
I want more content. I'd pay for it
The mechanics of receiver would suit well to a zombie survival game, tbh. Or just downright multiplayer deathmatch.
rainbow six hardcore tactical ops
I would buy it but they didnt update it for a long time...
Yeah, an update would be nice. Anything.
Or just downright multiplayer deathmatch.
There would have to be a mode with a lot of health.
For those that have just bought it and are shit: Keep slot 1 clear Slot 2 should have the most loaded mag Slot 3 has 2nd spare mag On reload, press e, 1, 2, 2, now new mag's in and empty one's in slot 1 Shift + Q to check if you have a round in the chamber Remember that the bullet doesn't come from your eye, it comes from the barrel of the gun which is below the sight, compensate for that at close quarters Using the Glock on full auto is a waste of ammo To practice reloading load 1 or 2 rounds into each mag and go through them. Glocks don't have a safety or external hammer On the 1911, make sure the hammer's cocked or the weapon won't fire. This can be done by racking the slide (If there's a round in the chamber it will be ejected) or holding F. If the slide is locked back make sure you give enough time for the mag to be put in position before you use the slide release or a round may not be chambered I wish they'd add more content to this game it's fucking fun or at least the ability to find extra mags, or configure the number of rounds, magazines and weapon you have

doesn't checking the chamber cock the hammer?
The mechanics of receiver would suit well to a zombie survival game, tbh.
Imagine if it worked with other survival items. Like replacing batteries in the flashlight, applying bandages, exploring loot, etc. Kind of like shattered memories.
