doesn't checking the chamber cock the hammer?
Don't believe so, the slide needs to be racked all the way back
Some more interesting enemies wouldn't go amiss. Right now it's turrets which are static and pose absolutely zero threat if you're not in their LOS, and the tazerbots which fuck you over if you need to reload anyway, either that or they just float idle until you shoot them or step into their LOS. More than 1-hit death would probably help too
i hate those sanic tazerbots because my aiming is shoddy and i never land the shot to take them down
Took out 6 turrets in a row, in as many shots, plus a killdrone , only to die from a ninja killdrone.
Am I the only one who thinks the revolver is a piece of shit? I can snipe a turret's camera off from across the room with any other gun but it feels like my shots are going nowhere near the intended target with the revolver
NO NO NO NO

I prefer the revolver if only because I can reload it easily, without i imagine looking like a tit.
Press E > hold G and mash C > spam Z > press R
For the other guns, it's normally remove magazine, drop magazine, pick up magazine, put magazine in, remove again before finally remembering to holster my gun before loading said magazine or switching to another
dropping?
you know if you have a magazine in hand and press 1,2,3,4 etc any of the inventory buttons, basically your character puts the mag back in inventory and pulls out the new one.
pretty sure you don't have to drop a mag to reload in the same number of keystrokes as you would if you did drop it
I know that, I'm just not very good :v:
Always pressing the wrong buttons for comedic effect. I was actually laughing to myself while playing this at times

Using the default controls:
E, E ,1, Z, R and bam you're reloaded, presuming you stored a mag in slot 1 (alright you do drop the mag onto the ground but you can pick it up as soon as the situations oever)
Alternatively, E,E,1,1,R. Although unless you run out of ammo in the middle of shooting a taserbot, you dont exactly have to rush to reload.
i'm pretty sure you can go E,1,Z,R
And if you remember to keep your last round in the chamber, you can shorten it to just 3 keystrokes, E,1,Z.
But that requires counting which is hard for some people.
I find reloading with glock/1911 easier than the revolver honestly, basically if the slide isn't locked back all you need to do is replace the mag. If you need it done quickly double tap eject, double tap 1/2/w/e, if chamber's empty then shift. Quick as fuck once you get it down. You can pick the mag back up once you're done shooting shit. With the revolver it's casings getting stuck that's annoying, if they're gonna do that then they should simulate stoppages with the other weapons.
Am I the only one who does reverse russian roulette with the revolver everytime I reload it? By that I mean load up all but one chamber with bullets, spin the cylinder fast and close it, all the while praying that i dont get a dud round if i encounter a taserbot.
actually i do straight russian roulette
i do what you do except with one bullet.
it's much more exhilarating

E,(number slot for fresh mag),Z and as said above possibly R, if you can't count.
i kinda wanna play a game of this again...
Does Receiver on steam have any Steam Work mods? Would be cool to be able to download different guns from steam.
It doesn't have any mods
the only feature i need now is to turn the gun to my own head.
i dropped my magazine down yonder stairs and went to retrieve it

and now i am trapped

Aim as far down as possible, walk forwards, shoot self.
Think you might have to adjust the proximity of the viewmodel in options.
i'm pretty sure you can go E,1,Z,R
Dropping the mag is faster than putting it back in your inventory
it all depends upon how fast and handy you are with a keyboard.
i can reload fast enough to the point with all weapons that i don't think it would be possible to go any faster.
i really really really want some kind of freeroaming first person shooter like stalker but with gun mechanics like this. oh my god that would be fucking insane.
[editline]10th May 2013[/editline]
it would be awesome if they released the source or something for the stalker games.
then someone could actually mod that in.
The source is out, the bigger issue is animating and getting working models for Stalker.
dude does it matter?
stalker is like... dead. it has so much modding potential if its source is out now. fans could seriously create a fucking brilliant conversion. even if it took forever.
guns break down in the zone right? press reload to clear jam? fuck that. you have to open the fucker up and see what the problem is if simple clearing procedures don't work.
you'd have to actually dissemble guns and clean them instead of doing that dumbshit repair thing. and buy new and replace parts if a part of the gun breaks.

the engine has limitations. You can only do what it'll allow, not anything you want.
yeah i know that, i was thinking beyond that
the engine has limitations. You can only do what it'll allow, not anything you want.
would it be out of the engines capability to just have a random generator roll every time the gun is fired and each shot has a chance of doing a small incremental amount of the damage in a chosen area of the gun, and this was just represented by a simple UI much like the Stalker Clear Sky gun modding interface?
I've no idea, i'm just curious

You could code that in, and run some scripting to disallow firing the gun until you repaired it, or that part of it. It would just take a lot of work. It was an absolute bitch to even get my Shell Ejection mod working in a basic state.
[editline]13th May 2013[/editline]
Let alone an entire revamp of the repair and weapon components.
