I haven't looked at the 3 pages, but if I pre-order Overgrowth, let's say, now, would I still get Receiver?
yeah. its just a link in the pre-order forum
Tried it. The concept is nice but it got boring after about an hour.
I myself can't get enough of this game. Just keep coming back for more.
i don't know how you guys are getting bored. i am absolutely hooked to it. it's TERRIFYING beyond belief i'm uploading the most hair raising vid of it you'll ever see. maybe then you'll appreciate them game in its entirety
It's this thing you boot up every other day just to figure out if "can I beat it now?".
yes pretty much i've never gotten more than six tapes at a time myself. i always have to do a run-around for ammo since i usually freak out and dump a whole magazine on a flyer [editline]19th June 2012[/editline] actually this game reminds me of bioshock. or, rather, how bioshock should have been i mean add more weapons, maybe some psyche kind of ability and an inventory and all of that jazz and you already have the perfect platform for a system shock sequel [editline]19th June 2012[/editline] game would have incredible potential for co-op too if there was maybe another pistol. give one guy the m1911a1 and the other a p220 or something and that way only the 1911 player can only collect .45s and the other can collect 9mms or something along the lines of having different ammo sizes for different weapons so player 1 can't hoard all of the bullets they find from player 2
Anyone else get the DXHR vibe from the voice and presentation, sort-of? I wonder if it's still feasible for BIS to add something like this to ARMA3
Anyone else get the DXHR vibe from the voice and presentation, sort-of? I wonder if it's still feasible for BIS to add something like this to ARMA3
yeah Deus Ex vibes are expected, they went for a clearly cyberpunk setting and story.
i now request that i become the official receiver voice actor
New Morgan Freeman
I've found that once I run out ammo and become reckless, it's really easy to sprint through a lot of rooms with turrets and fliers relatively safely. Turrets seem to have low turn speed (do they even turn at all?) and fliers are sort of easy to dodge if they're coming at you at an angle. Doesn't work so well if they're chasing you down a corridor though.
i now request that i become the official receiver voice actor
[T] + [R] god damn man
[T] + [R] god damn man
what does r do i just mash buttons until it comes out
R pulls back slide, release it then wait a tiny moment then hold it down again to empty out rounds. Holding T will prevent rounds from escaping, as you only pull the slide halfways back. [editline]20th June 2012[/editline] If you wanna be gangsta as shit, load up a round into the chamber then remove the magazine again, then walk around like this. [editline]20th June 2012[/editline] Also to decock your weapon, Press and hold F, Press and hold LMB, release F, release LMB.
i now request that i become the official receiver voice actor
You need to make more of these.

I'd be really disappointed if they didn't develop further on this game
I'd be really disappointed if they didn't develop further on this game
The mechanics are too advanced to be completely ignored by everyone. Surely either they will advance with this idea or someone will take from it and create something bigger.
JUST BEAT IT BITCHEEESSSS aww yeah, literally every tape was within like two-three rooms distance. took out about a dozen turrets and half a dozen drones to get to 'em but it was worth it [editline]19th June 2012[/editline] i like how all it does is kick you off the game when you're done. it just goes through a cheesy slideshow and that's it. you don't even get the luxury to keep going. i was on an awesome kill streak with taking out drones
Just played it for a bought it and played it for a bit, and man is it fun. There's something really awesome about cocking the slide and loading your own magazines, but it's too bad the tazer bots get me everytime. They remind me a lot of manhacks from HL2. Also, the controls are pretty good IMO. Yeah, it's weird learning them, but you get use to them really fast. My only regret is not being able to switch magazines quickly.
Preordered Overgrowth so I got it for free, and I"m really sad at the optimization. I can run TF2 with medium setting and be fine, but I put this thing on the lowest resolution with the lowest quality and i"m getting like 10 FPS, I don't really understand why. Otherwise the concept is really cool, I'd love to play it.

Yeah I get that, I finally got it to run with a bearable 15 fps, and I couldn't do anything. I finally understood the gun mechanics which were extremely entertaining, but the enemies were indestructable! I seriously emptied 2 almost full magazines into a single turret and did nothing to it. I tried shooting the camera, the barrel, the stand, the hinges, and the pieces on the back of the gun and they did nothing. I was really dissapointed at how impossible it was to destroy anything, but I'm looking forward to what the game becomes.
It have been updated
Fixed problem with falling through the floor in one of the rooms - You can now remove rounds from a magazine with 'r' when gun is holstered (e.g. to combine two half-full magazines) - Made hover bots louder so they are easier to detect - Added a restart-game button in case you get stuck (hold 'L') - Fixed problem inability to run when gun is holstered - Disabled gun shadow (players report that it is weird to see a gun shadow without a body shadow) - Mouse cursor disappears automatically when alt-tabbing into the game - Splash screen correctly fades to black when starting new game - More descriptive input names in configuration window - Brighter muzzle flash illumination
