I don't mean the lag. I mean it literally looks like fps creator. Okay yea it took them seven days but why should I waste 5 bucks on it? Just offering my opinion because that guy a few posts up is being a huge douche like it's the holy Grail of indie games. Sorry it's a fun concept but if they forfeited they should just improve upon it then sell it for 5 dollars.
I don't think it's a matter of forfeiting (Someone else mentioned that it wasn't even a contest). Rather the dev, (who is David, I think) is focusing on his other pre alpha game, Overgrowth. I don't think he intended to fully flesh this out. Perhaps later he will, or someone will use that concept
he should just release the source code to all of us who paid i am pretty decent in unity so I could *probably* make some nice improvements. gameplay wise anyway. i hate optimizing [editline]20th June 2012[/editline] hell if we had the source for this then the amount of moddability would basically mean this game would balloon in popularity
yeah exactly i mean given the potential that it already has and how easy it is to add to unity applications, getting access to the source code would be a dream come true hell, david should just make more games for seven-day funfests and dish out the source code to let modders have their way with it. everybody knows that he's a total prodigy when it comes to coding things so why can't he just make the base source and let others delve in from there? it's a win-win situation in my opinion
Because of the slow motion cheat (To use it[sp]type "slowmo" in-game. If you did it right you'll hear a moan[/sp]) I've discovered that the bullets actually emit from the muzzle, so if you shoot really fast the recoil animation will cause your shots to be all off. And I also shot myself in the hand while jumping off a balcony and shooting.
I can't stand people who bitch and moan about a $5 price tag, regardless of the timeframe, this game is full of awesome and intuitive ideas, and frankly anybodies effort is worth something, especially with an end product like this. People sit and complain about a $5 game but have no problem forking out $7+ for fast food or starbucks. Fucking lulz.
dude i used to rock a spy fox avatar t2oo therefore i'll stand behind anythng you say foreveR (plus you aren't dumb as fuck)
To be quite honest even if I were a better coder than I am I wouldnt dare touch David's code because it would literally feel like defiling a holy relic
yeah but you would have to think david probably gets tired of dishing out all of these fucking amazing concepts in terms of code and having to simplify it just so other coders can keep up i mean i think almost every coder strives to be as good as him just because he can program almost anything you can think of in a flash. unity is pretty much the best engine to code on anyway since it's pretty much idiot-proof so i don't see why not
some tazerbots are fucking assholes brushing off 2 magazines. that's 16-18 bullets that they're just like "lol bullets? that's cute"
Aim for the front of the chassis, the thick beige part. There's the battery. kills in one shot. disables completely. dont aim for the tail or rotors. Or you could try to shoot the sensor, but thats harder and wont disable it completely. Also, on turrets, try to shoot the thicker part of the base, thats where their batteries are. again, one shot kills and its completely disabled, no movement, turret is facing down, no sound and no light and no shooting.
Shot the tazer on a hoverbot, now I have a pet!
sometimes i think the bullets pierce right through the taser and take out the battery block too because i hit the taser right on and the entire unit drops which is kind of interesting since i didn't think ballistics could pierce [editline]20th June 2012[/editline] fortunately i've gotten good enough at firing that damn pistol that i can pretty much knock out tasers in one-two shots anyway which is pretty groovy. they become incredibly easy targets if they're lunging right at you. the problem that still irks me the most is how off-center the iron sights are. the front sight is aimed too far down
i mean i think almost every coder strives to be as good as him just because he can program almost anything you can think of in a flash.
This. He programmed his first game in 5th grade of elementary school or something. And crytek wanted to hire him when he was 15. He never looked at a single tutorial or anything, he self taught himself. Today, he works +12 hours a day on Overgrowth. Wakes up and starts coding until its bedtime again.

I wish ARMA had the same gun mechanics
Right fellas. I emailed Wolfire asking for the source code. It probably won't work with my Unity since, y'know, I don't have pro which I'm sure they do, but even then, it's worth a shot. You miss every shot you don't take kinda shit (especially true with this game!) But yeah. I hope I can get a handle on the game's guts. And make it fucking fun as fucking fuck.

I think I have the source code already. Hold on fellas
I love this but I hate the lagspike when moving between rooms One second you're moving into the room The next second you're a whole meter forward with either 3 turrets aiming at you or you're plunging to your death
I'm not really sure if the level stops expanding, causing there to be more than one location for a single tape. i haven't really found "the edge" of a map yet so to speak; i'm pretty sure it spawns you right in the middle of its randomly generating levels and you pretty much just start to walk one way until you find all of the cassettes. it's really weird and i'm not really sure how that bit works
Hello beautiful!
oh shiii
If this shit gets opensourced I'd gladly optimize the living shit out of it
Well if I'm gonna add in some weapons I need assets. Model with texture and sound and the like. Who wants to help?
i can be the ideas guy
Found a sniper on the unity store for free, no doubt it won't be that detailed though. Still, good for testing I guess
upload the code somewhere already [editline]21st June 2012[/editline] you know you want to
ok fine I'll spill the beans it's on github and readonly but don't abuse it i guess (fuck i dunno) either way I have two copies of the newest shit if he takes it down https://github.com/David20321/7DFPS (i have no idea what I'm doing in unity oh god)
This game has a lot of potential. Once you get used to the hotkeys, it's very fluid.

I'm tempted to either stop that for Unity or learn concurrently to help with this. (Of course that mean's that I'd offer next to nothing...)
