Fable: The Lost Chapters is probably the greatest RPG I have ever played. It gives me such a feeling of choice I have never felt in any other RPG. It's incredible. If I wanted to massacre Witchwood, or Bowerstone or whatever, all it took was the courage and the skill to do so. Of course ol' Petey never got to adding in exactly what he promised but he did what he could do. He made a damn good game, with a good degree of replay-ability and many things to do. It's so sad that Fable went downhill after The Lost Chapters. 2 was good, but unfortunately I never got around to playing it to the end and 3 was just... 3 was an absolute monstrosity.
3 was incredibly medicore.
3 was incredibly medicore.
It was way to casual.

Oh hey childhood, I see you are making me cry.
Its not that 3 was bad, it was just incredibly underwhelming.
The difference from 1 to 2 was huge, but 3 was just a watered down version of the second game.
That and the Darkness crap was incredibly shoe horned in.
Its like:
"Oh hey, we have a problem, We dealt with Logan and now we need a new bad guy!"
"Oh shit! You're right! well... How about...uh... Darkness? That's pretty evil, right?"
I don't think the darkness was really shoehorned, I just think it was written badly from the beginning.
The intro was literally the best part of the game.
To Fable 3, I agree.
It gave you hope it would be good, then you got a dead husk with no good transition from bad guy.
Orginal fable was great because.
- Had a excellent story.
- Original enemy's.
- Fishing
- Armor was useful
- The game built up in suspense, and bam at the end of TLC pretty much, when you kill Jack in his dragon form.
- And so much more.
Jack as a dragon was honestly more annoying than it was a good fight.
One of my main gripes with the third game was that your character didn't really change much based on how good or evil you was. I used to love looking like a badass, and I miss the pure/corruption.
I didn't mind Fable 3, but it didn't have the charm of the others.
I read a thing somewhere a while ago, Lionhead said they had story planned up until Fable 7. I think the "hurr durr darkness" will be explained more in the sequel(s).

As long as they don't go back to the Archon's, and continue removing everything Fable (TLC) established, it will be shit.
Whatabout those 2 gods? Why can't the Prince(ss) cast Magic without the gloves, (s)he is an Archon!
I never killed Whisper, it was this "We grew up and became great together, she's like a sister" moment to me. Fable 2's ending was hard too.
I never chose money, I could get my dog back in the DLC, but whatabout my sister? I wanted the statue, but those people I had never met, and maybe they would've fallen to become bandits. So I closed my eyes, went LRLRLRLRLRLRL then pressed A and see the outcome.
Yeah, I was hoping the family option in Fable 2 would bring back your sister.
So I started playing this series a week or so back with Fable 3 and finished it a couple of days ago. Are Fable I and II better and should I try them?
Fable 3 is a disgrace. The other two are FAR better.
The first game (+ TLC) is unique. The second game is a 3x better version of the third game.

Opinions.

So you rate me dumb for an opinion and bash me for not agreeing with others' opinions.
I like how Fable 3 had 4 weapons in total. It really is a bother to have fun looking forward to buying new weapons when the game spoonfeeds the same sword to you over and over again.

And half of them were useless.
But I loved it nonetheless.

Let's not forget that you can also fistfight in Fable 1.
Fuck you all, you made me reinstall it. This game is like Deus Ex for me, whenever someone mentions it I reinstall and beat it then uninstall until someone else mentions it.
I meant I used a trainer.
Played through Fable 2 after Microsoft accidentally gave it out for free. Pretty good game imo. Considering picking up the third one but I heard its kind of shitty.

You should be supporting Lion Head.
Dirty thieves.
What I really hated about 3 was that you had to know about the money/king thing before it happens to even get remotely enough houses aka money to be good.
Totally fucked.
Loved the garden gnomes though.

"Okay, on to the next day to sort out my kingdom. I only need another million to save everyone!"
NOPE!
"What the fuck Lionhead?"

Having bought every property in Albion, the money was rolling in. 121 days to go and I'd transferred none of it to the treasury yet, and I decided to skip to what I thought would be around 90 days or whatever (if I remember correctly, the quest was like two rooms away from me anyway). Suddenly it was the end of the game and it'd auto-saved so I couldn't go back. Then in the end [sp]the main characters were congratulating me on my victory, only for a message to pop up saying I'd forever be remembered as the king that sucked.[/sp]
