It's trailers were the best fucking part of the game. Seriously. It had like the best trailer of the year.

I just dislike games with autosave at every corner. True RPG isometric games of the 90's and early 2000's never had that shit and they were awesome
fable the lost chapters = Just epic
Fable 2 = AWESOME!
Fable 3 = Nope

Autosave has replaced quicksave. I'm sure your F5 key is happy.[sp]Seriously, I can't be the only one who saves after almost every single fight or looting in an RPG.[/sp]
Oh, Fable... How I love thee.
I still play Fable TLC To this very day, it was such a great game. Fable 2 was alright, but it's not nearly as good as the original. I never played Fable 3, however, looking through peoples' reviews and comments about the game tells me it's absolute shit.
Personally, I think the only way Peter Molyneux can redeem himself and the Fable franchise is... a Prequel.
Sad but true, the only way I see the Fable franchise surviving is to throw the scripts for Fable 4-7 out the window, poor gasoline out said window, and burn the script; As well as the building if so needed. Re-do Everything, and make it take place before the Hero of Oakvale's time.
I don't know how it will start, who it will be about, but Fable should really go back to it's roots. No more 1-button instant Shooting/Meleeing/Magicking, bring back armour, no more guns, Make it not piss-easy; I can go on forever.
Also, it'd be pretty badass to relive the Life of the Archon, to fight all of the Old-Kingdom creatures, to go against the council...
Sigh, a man can only dream.
It's just so sad to see all of this good Lore being wasted...

I'd like to see the full story behind William Black, and maybe confirming that he's now Sythe.

I'll never understand why 2 and 3 were so.. 'Odd' compared to the first. Sure, it's technically the same world and you've still got a fun time - usually - ahead of you with some often imaginative stuff to do; but making magic and ammo infinite, dumbing down the necessity of loot and making armor nonexistent, removing the penalty of death entirely (oh, experience loss and an extra scar, big friggin' whoop)...
The stories don't even bother trying to connect properly. Theresa somehow survives for over a hundred or so years to the second game but there's no explanation whatsoever for it, there's no attempts to explain why Lucien would use his research of the Old Kingdom to create the very device that destroyed it aside from his family having died, [i]none[/i] of the characters except Lucien and the karma houdini that is Reaver even get any real characterization (compared to the first and, well, RPG standards, this is a big issue of mine with the 2nd game), and otherwise. Simple nods to the first game don't really save Fable 2 from criticism.
I won't judge 3, because I haven't played it myself. However, I have the distinct feeling judging by reviews, comments, and otherwise, that it not only doesn't solve any of these problems, but digs the hole deeper to the point that it might as well not be a Fable game.
This thread has made me want Fable back.
Thankfully I have it. At my house. I'm at college right now. D:
TO THE WEEKEND! HOOOOO!

Ahem.
1. Theresa survived because of her Archon blood. Archon's are immortal.
2. Lucien rebuilds it to regain his family, that's the sole reason. He just wants the wishes to regain his family from his mental scars he had gotten in his youth.
And 3, well, rename some Bowerstone and some other things and BAM! A new game.
It doesn't even explain why the fuck the land didn't have a ruling position, let alone how the fuck Fable 2's protagonist got the position of King.
[editline]19th October 2011[/editline]
Also I never died.
And I died alot in Fable TLC
So in other words: The hero of Oakvale is also alive?
[editline]19th October 2011[/editline]
I hate what this series devolved into. Fable 2 should have been like "20 years later" or something...
They wated to bring in the industrial revolution/steampunk theme along with powder weapons and I'm ok with that but Fable 1 just concentrated a lot more on the concept and gameplay.
Being the king is kind of awesome as an idea on paper but the game is about being a hero/anti-hero.
I would have loved a Fable game where you built your own guild, bad or good and the whole castle changes with your guilds spirit.
Fuck that King shit, it's just too artificial, everyone knows that a king doesn't reign a kingdom alone. It wasn't even being king, it was just gathering money and 10 or so "moral" choice options.
It wasn't even about the moral of the choice itself but rather "money = bad" vs "no money =good".
Now the problem was that the game required you to be bad to end this in a non tedious way. Maybe Lionhead wanted to provide a message, being bad is easy or something, but they ultimately failed by making the alternative "being good is just boring".

Well, that's been around since TLC.
At the End, where you have to [sp]Collect the oldest Hero's soul[/sp], you could have [sp]Gone alllll the way to the Lychfield graveyard to collect Nostro's soul[/sp], or [sp]Walk about 10 yards and slay a few Guards to kill the Guildmaster, without even a real boss fight[/sp]. The Evil choice is always easier.

Yeah but at least then you actually do it, instead of just pressing x or y.
My issue with Fable 3 was the sword building. I remember hearing that you'd be able to craft and sell unique swords, which would have been awesome! Instead, everyone got a bone hilt unless they went out of their way for something unique, and you couldn't even sell weapons.
Yeah.
Fable 3 was disappointing.
Shall we go rant outside of Lion Head Study's and tell them we want more of the good stuff from back in the day?
The only thing I really liked about Fable 3 was the weapon augment system. It added some replay value to the game because you actively had to go out and earn them.

Why is there a picture of you in the OP? I know you said you were 12 once.
I felt like adding the new, 13 year old OP.
So cool, right?
Nah, I just posted it because i'm suit.
Awesome.
Anyway, Fable?

Well, yeah, that one it the series death sentence.
why did you put a pic of you in the op
why is is that necessary
I don't know, but you should wear a smoking, have slightly longer hair, and take a beating to make your face a little less "delicate" and You'd look like some Capo.

In 5 years.
I augmented my longsword.
It never asked for this.
