Was I the only person who found Postal:The Movie to be brilliant?
As long as Uwe Boll has nothing to do with the game, I guess it'll turn out ok. Not like the movie...
Uwe Boll is in Postal 3 as a character. [editline]16th October 2011[/editline]
Yeah I'm sure the full game will be AWESOME - you can already get a sense of the AWESOME direction it's headed in!
You didn't like Deus Ex Human Revolution, who cares what you think.
Was I the only person who found Postal:The Movie to be brilliant?
I didn't find it brilliant, but it was fun to watch.
Runs on HL2 engine? Shit...
Everyone loves the Source engine, unless a Postal game is made using it.
Everyone loves the Source engine, unless a Postal game is made using it.
Source is just not very good for sandboxy games. Map size limits are a bitch.
I'm kinda worried how they'll manage to do the gore.
From the videos they released, I doubt this game will be any good. I already don't like the fact that it became a third person shooter.
why is the blood effect the default half-life 2 decal
This'll turn out just like DNF, people are gonna bitch and moan, the game will look and feel subpar, but we'll love it only because that's how the last games in the series were too, and we're in it for the humor
Well if it's anything like DNF then people will hate it universally and treat it like it was E.T. on the Atari, and they'll say that the humor is too immature and act like it wasn't like that in the first place.
I'm still going to keep my hopes up for this...the people who played it that I have seen said it was good and fun to play (even that guy who got the gravity gun said it was fun) but it still should of been first person and on the unreal engine. But I hope there is a way to enable first person when the game releases and i honestly don't care about the game not looking amazing graphical wise...I played postal 2 years after it first came out and I still had tons of fun in it, I didn't care that the graphics were bad.
A release date? FINALLY Is the price confirmed?
Source is just not very good for sandboxy games. Map size limits are a bitch.
Postal 2 was not one big map though, it was a bunch of maps, so I don't see the problem.
I think that source engine isn't really good for sandbox games But if you still can throw angry cats and people (and cost less than 25$) I'm in
Garry's Mod
*sees Portal 3* *clicks* *some game called Postal 3* Fuck.
Christ that looks AWFUL
Running With Scissors has always had a humorous track record of less-than-impressive live showings of their games at public events. They basically don't have the time or resources to prepare something pre-scripted and pretty yet they don't want to pass up the publicity since they're already working on a shoestring budget and every tiny bit of exposure helps. Hence, they're forced to show off what they have as-is. I'm not putting too much hope that Postal 3 will live up to Postal 2 (of course, Postal 2 was and still is amazing), but it really is unfair to judge the game from this literally year and a half old footage. However, if you're just interested in the embarrassing live demonstrations, here's an older and even more embarrassing clip from 2008:
Garry's Mod
Clearly this project must not have succeeded as a sandbox since it was on the Source engine. The guy who made it probably went bankrupt and faded into obscurity, his name forever lost to the harsh mistress of time.
Garry's Mod
I meant GTA styled sandbox, not the physics sandbox
Heh, wow, that video is pretty bad. Mid-to-late 2009? Geez. I hope they've managed to, uh, clean things up since then. And added breakable doors. And actual charred bodies. I suppose they couldn't really help showing off something half-assed if they needed the promotion badly, though.
WE NEED TEAM FORTRESS 2 PROMOS!
I meant GTA styled sandbox, not the physics sandbox
Well yeah but Postal isn't that kind of game to begin with.
Was I wrong about DNF? Everyone argued against me telling me I didn't get the humor.. but at the end of the day it was shit.
dnf was pretty great if you went in expecting shit
dnf was pretty great if you went in expecting shit
Getting kicked in the balls is pretty great if you go in expecting to get him in the balls.
Postal 2 was not one big map though, it was a bunch of maps, so I don't see the problem.
But you must agree that it would improve significantly if it was just one big map, no? So that is one of the things they could have done to really improve on the previous game, and improving on the predecessor is the point of sequels after all.

And I still think the third person viewpoint looks really awkward.
I hope the game isn't full of bugs on release, and I don't see how RWS can fuck up the game
Actually it doesn't look incredibly awful, just really unpolished. And I still think the third person viewpoint looks really awkward.
And Postal 2 was polished? I mean I love Postal 2 but some people act like its a perfect game.
I don't see how RWS can fuck up the game
Don't worry, the game is in the hands of true professionals. To assuage your fears, have several videos of Running With Scissors' Mike Jaret, product manager for Postal 3 as well as the mad cow zombie demon boss in Apocalypse Weekend, smashing several innocent bystanders in the head with an official RWS metal sign:
Running With Scissors: The single most tasteless video-game company ever, and also the best video-game company ever.
Motherfucking nostalgia. My dad was playing this when i was small and he allowed me to play it too. :V:
