How do I get the Gold Amber stuff? I need lots of darts.
You mean the gold orbs?
You can get them by harvesting wood from golden oaks. They are rarer than regular trees, but you will easily identify them (they have golden spots on the bark). They also drop golden apples sometimes, and the leaves drop saplings if you want to plant more.
I thought it was 5 blocks in the Aether equals 1 block on the surface?
I don't see that in the Minecraft Forum thread. Where does it say that?

I know what the Golden Trees are. :v:

Had a Moa, built a tower to keep it in, return to the house I'm keeping it in to find it has vanished. Didn't realize they despawn.

Well, you're probably set than.

If you don't put a saddle on it, it will despawn. I'm not sure if it's a bug or not.

I hatched a black Moa and left it alone as I went exploring. I came back and he was just sitting there, so I fed him until he grew. Then I flew over to a bronze dungeon, left him at the entrance, killed the boss, looted the place, and went back. He'd despawned.
I think baby Moa's don't despawn and adult Moa's (even tamed ones) despawn automatically.

That's odd because my Moa had a saddle on and he still despawned. Either that or it wandered off an edge.

The thing is, every time I placed a saddle on a pig, it never despawned. I only have one tame moa, so I'm not really sure.

I remember hearing it from long ago back when the mod was only an idea. Maybe they changed it or something due to generator limits.
Really?

Third dungeon :v:
I found three bronze dungeons right next to each other. I should have taken a picture.
Also I remember one dungeon extending onto a tree so the tree had a portion of the leaves turned into stone.

You can map the Aether (albiet without a marker showing where you are.)
I'm also thinking about maybe streaming a bit of Aether exploration, would anyone watch that?
My bad. I already beat this one.

Well fuck.
Oh wow, I just ran into a bronze dungeon that runs through the top of another bronze dungeon.

Should I beat the top boss, dig a hole out of the room and wake up the second boss so he leaves his chamber into the surface?
[editline]a[/editline]
I did that, and now there's a giant blue block chasing me and my Moa on the surface, smashing through trees and mountains trying to get me. It's kinda funny.

Doooo ittttt
Also, post pictures of it.
Oh man, I got knocked off my moa by it, and then I leapt off a cliff onto the moa's back, like in those hollywood moments. Epic.
really should fix beds, otherwise building a base is pretty useless
really should fix beds, otherwise building a base is pretty useless
First of all, have you defeated the sun god?
Because if you don't, the sun won't set, and that might be the cause for the exploding beds.
It was a truely epic battle. Upon escaping his stone prison the mighty block began attacking the enviroment around him, in an attempt to catch and crush me. He knocked over towering trees:

Dug trenches to attempt to slow me down.

All the while me and my trusty steed evaded his attacks. Tiring of this play, I readied my gravity-powered pickaxe, engaging the block in true combat. (mostly involving circle strafing and whacking it.)

In one desperate move he rams into me, fling me off of my Moa. I scramble to my feet, leaping back onto my winged steed and finishing him off.

In the end, I gain his key. Which I can use to open the chest he had guarded...

Assuming I remember where his dungeon was.

Oh man, and I got page king too.
The thing I really love about this mod is the possibilities it opens.
For example, in vanilla minecraft mixing different materials together is useless-If you want a good armor, you make it all out of diamonds. But because the materials in the aether have special properties, you can use them to make alloys- A Diamond-Zanite alloy is absolutely brilliant for armor.
Like I said, if anyone is having a problem installing Aether just PM me, I got a prebuilt jar with Aether and Optifog.

You can?! Fuck, if only I knew that earlier!
You can?! Fuck, if only I knew that earlier!
Well you can achieve that by basically wearing armor which is half diamond, half zanite which means that the helmet and chestplate are diamond and the leggings and boots are zanite. This will make armor that is 55% diamond and 45% zanite. What this basically means is that the armor keeps the same level of protection even when it's almost completely worn out.

Happened to me to.
Happened to me to.
But did you write a semi-epic story with pictures showing off the block above ground?
All I freaking got for killing the queen Valkyrie

Pffft, really? I got an invisibility cloak and lightning sword. Kind of reminds me of an old PC game, "Claw"...
HAMMA O' NOTCH!!!

It was a bronze dungeon, btw
So I killed ten Valkyries and beat the Queen Valkyrie but when I killed her I died as well, meaning that the shit I had and everything is locked in there forever.
:suicide:

Clouds do not work very well with small mobs. (they seem to be incapable of getting a path to their enemies)
