Is there a way to give yourself the stuff from the dungeons?
So I emailed Rhodox asking him very nicely to make textures for Aether mod.
This was his reply.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your interest in my support of the Aether mod, by
Kingbdogz, Kodaichi, Shockah, Flan and 303; I have recently been
informed by a reliable source that one or more of the Aether mod
developers have been considering adding a "blacklist" to their mod
which would for the mod to disable itself if the person playing the
games login name matched a list of banned names which would be at the
discretion of the aforementioned developers.
This greatly concerns me particularly because it has also come to my
attention (via one of the yogcast crew members that I associate with
for the production of the Painterly Edition of the yogbox textures)
that the developers are attempting to blackmail the yogscast with
demands or they will be added to this list.
This, among other concerns about the developers including possibly
malicious code into their mod had led me to refuse to support any mod
made by this development team; the modding community is about
bettering the game for all, not further peoples' petty vendettas.
What you can do:
Contact the Aethermod creators: Kingbdogz, Kodaichi, Shockah, Flan and
303, and tell them your feelings on including malicious code into
thier mods.
Sincerely,
Rhodox
That's incredible bullshit (not what Rhodox said, I believe him) but more rather the fact that the mod creators would do that.
Yeah if the Aether mod devs are actually going to add the blacklist Aethermod is gone from my minecraft.jar in a fucking heartbeat.
I mean seriously, I've never heard of fuckers that are that fucking petty.
I'm just really sad because Rhodox makes some really awesome textures.

I can't believe my luck.
If you can't tell, that's 3 blocks of Gravitite. Even better, it's within seeing distance from my house! :buddy:
the developers are attempting to blackmail the yogscast
Aether mod can suck my dick. No one fucking blackmails yogscast.
Why would the devs do that? What did the Yogscast even do? Lewis played the Aether, and liked it!
Also, I'm pretty sure Notch probably wouldn't allow a system like that.
This mod is gone.

They would be doing it to get the Yogscast guys to advertise for them. Like making an entire series dedicated to dicksucking the mod. Not that is matters, I've never understood the attraction to things like their videos. It just never seems interesting.
And Notch has no say in the matter, it isn't hard to code a blacklist, and Minecraft itself cannot block it as that can be overridden by a mod. This is the same as the Obsidian Conflict developers mod banning people who call them out as being weaboo as fuck.
Right. This needs explaining, Lewis of the Yogscast made comments about how adly links were terrible and how they should be removed from the minecraft forums due to "malware" or something. This caused outrage as some modders need money from these links to survive. Someone called Miclee came along and started arguing about how hypocritical the Yogscast were being as their site is mostly run with money from advertising. Miclee and several others were put on a blacklist on the Yogbox and now the Yogscast are complaining about them doing so.
I think that's about it, the Aether team don't like them due to this.
That's not comparable at all. The Yogscast were against the adfly links. Their site is more like a fan site. They do stuff on Youtube. They got put on a blacklist of a modpack. Oh no. Because there's no way you can download those mods any other way.
Meanwhile, Aether modders decide to BLACKMAIL them.
Ahaha, living off AdFly links? The MC community is as retarded as I thought. AdFly is a fucking terrible service, at least the guy who does ModLoader is nice enough to provide direct links to everything too.
Ugh. I hate it when an AWESOME mod comes out, then the developers end up just being complete assholes.
"Hey, we spent months and countless hours working together, let's suddenly turn into assholes after it releases and start contemplating adding in a blacklist and malicious code!"
Seriously? Are they children still or what? Mods are meant to bring new, free enjoyment for everyone and should be bringing the community together instead of tearing them apart.

You know what's funny? The only person who has said they were going to blackmail them was Lewis, he could very easily be lying. The people who were put on the blacklist weren't bothered, they hate the Yogscast after the adly thing. How does their site being a fansite have anything to do with this?

Exactly. Don't get me wrong, but isn't it like, $5/1000 clicks? Does that go any higher, because if not, we're talking like 100,000 clicks to make $500. I wouldn't put people through the hassle of extra clicks for pennies like that.
I don't care about this anyway, I just want to see how things play out.
Probably not the first to do this.

That or just put four clouds a block above the top of the gate so you don't take any fall damage from that. (As in glowstone, empty space, cloud.)

I suppose that would look neater.
Too bad about the devs being like this. This is probably the best mod ever made, could've even become official.
So why are the devs such tremendous dicks now? That really doesn't make sense, usually mod devs are great people. They're acting like EA.
The massive popularity around their mod probably gave them enough of an ego to make them think they can actually do the shit they're threatening to do.
I won't be downloading another update then. To be honest, it's not exactly the best mod anyways.
I'm going to wait and see if they change their minds, but the second I see "added player blacklist" in their patch notes they can go fuck themselves.
Wait what the hells going on with this whole drama bullshit about blackmailing? I'm missing info here
Ide still play it. I just hate that they would do that. Especially to Yogscast they are awesome. If notch adds it to the game then anyone can play it.

Wouldn't be the first time. Okay, so:
Devs make mod
Mod gets famous
Devs get gigantic ego
Video creator(s) criticise money-making scam
Devs like money-making scam
Devs stop video creator(s) from playing
