Doesn't Galactic Adventures just add quests to the game?
How does that even work?
Do you get random notifications of a mission on a planet or do you choose from a list?
Just reinstalled Spore so I can use the CC for a Microbiology project. I've got GA installed alongside stock Spore, patched up to the max. Think I should install Platinum or stick with the stock guns?

because then all creatures would have long legs, tiny heads etc...

any big headed creatures, rebind movement keys somehow
Any legs that are long, put level 5 speed/charge feet on them
as for crabs, place head on side and ignore the head on its ass.
You know, I'm kinda glad I didn't see those early videos before now, when I first found out about Spore, it was already cartoony like this.
That pretty much gave me what I expected, and I had a great time for weeks, until I grew kinda tired of it.
Now that I've seen those early videos, I just don't really get why they changed it, was it to get a younger audience to play it too?

You know how when you go to speak to other species and they go "HEY, GO HERE AND KILL X AMOUNT OF Y" so you can build relations with them?
Well, those are pretty much replaced with more in fun missions which are made by the community and shared via that sporepedia thing. The missions you play can range from creature stage type experience but with more weapons (lasers, grenades, etc), pseudo RPG's, tower defense, and more. The more of them you play, the more points you get and you can spend the points to unlock bonus weapons, jetpacks, and other goodies of that sort.
Why cant they just drop the Expansion pack business model and go for the community instead? Spare work and they can see the amazing mods rolling in while people buy the game for the mods, who gets the money? The creators of the game, EA.

That model wasn't the one they used with Spore as the game only had one expansion pack.
Well that took longer than I thought it would.

That actually sounds pretty cool.
Might have to look into getting that expansion.
Would I be correct in assuming that the ..."Creepy & Cute" pack is a total waste of money?
On my first playthrough i hated it. Right now i have no interest at all in going to the core, im just using the spacecreate cheat and making lovely T3 planets with lots of creatures on, sadly i rushed through creature stage so i barely have any parts
The only time I play space is to use cheats to terraform/planet bust/fuck with Grox

Not really. Because 99% of the good adventures require it. Along with winning the Dr. Pepper rewards. So yes, it is quite worth it.
And some of the parts allow for kickin' rad creations. Like a flesh lump, or a flesh lump beast, or a flesh lump beast with WINGS.

Dr. Pepper reward is so stupid. Not the parts (lol no sing mouths), the idea of it.

Every other race on my arm of the galaxy was already killed by me so it's not that bad.

It seemed like the model they were about to use, made one parts pack, and one major expanison then abandoned the game. Nevertheless whatever they used it still failed, and the policy EA is using on modding is ridicules .
They just need to make Spore 2 and put in all the original ideas you got to see but never made it to Spore.
Every time I think about Spore I feel like I wasted my money, and how much better the 2005 concepts were, and the like. But then I see pictures and what not, like what has been posted in this thread, and I'm filled with ideas. I hit the install limit with my retail copy (I think), but if it ever goes on sale on Steam I am definitely getting it.

original ideas and a graphic update.
The way they should have made the stage progression is that rather than making them separate modes entirely, you progress naturally between them... for example, slowely get bigger and bigger as a cell until you start being able to alter it in 3D and then swim around in the ocean, eventually once you can afford legs you leave the ocean and you're in creature stage (or stay in the ocean and make packs of fish for all I care, that'd be lots of fun too) then as your pack in creature stage gets bigger and bigger they eventually start picking up the sticks at other creature nests etc, bringing them back would slowely allowed you to build tribal buildings and tools.... it'd just make more sense and be a lot more fun playing through it, the loading screen between it all kind of ruins it for me, I wouldn't mind if the game played exactly the same as it does, even though it's not as fun as it used to look, if it had a much more natural sense of progression like that it'd be a lot better by default I believe.

I don't have the Creepy and Cute parts pack, so I'm not sure if it's used a lot in adventures, but I've had a lot of fun with the adventures not using those parts.

For the transition between creature stage and tribal stage it could be combined with minecraft.

There's only a fair few Adventures without C&C Parts, unfortunately.
Ugh, I can't log in on my STEAM or hard copy versions. It keeps saying that I don't have privileges or the damn key is invalid. Fuck you, EA.

Oh, I'll have to pick up a copy on Amazon then.
I used to be able to play this game for hours, that is until my retail copy stopped starting for me.
But I would always quit right when I got to space age and start a new one. Space age was just too tedious and repetitive for me.
I loved the sense of scale and majesty that the space stage gave. I loved the variety that was a result of procedural generation. I loved how the space stage's lore hinted at something huge and powerful. I didn't love much else about the game. What it really needed was more depth of interaction, a greater sense of accomplishment, and more flexibility/freedom. By depth of interaction, I mean being able to affect things in the world in a realistic, meaningful way, rather than "guy shoot you, you shoot guy! Now errybody hate you!" For example, stealing all the food from a planet and selling it back at an exorbitant rate. Basically, more actions and more consequences for those actions. By a sense of accomplishment, I mean having more of an impact on the world/galaxy and showing your impact somehow. By flexibility and freedom, I mean having more options for how the game plays out. Enslaving species, raiding a planet for their resources, making an underwater species, etc.
