Now, I have no problem with the console version, it's great that everyone can play it now.
But what I DO have a problem with is comments like this which are just totally false and really stupid.
Objectively, CryEngine 3 has a better lighting system than CryEngine 2. That doesn't really say anything about the console version, though.
why
you're honestly going to try and say this when #1 it's opinion and #2

yeah it's a bit saturated and there's a tad too much bloom, but come on
I'm not familiar with Crysis but was interested in getting the console port. Am I to assume that the left is PC and the right is Console?
Personally I'm okay with those graphics on the console, I'm pretty used to low graphic settings due to having a crappy computer. Technically I'm not supposed to play any game on it haha.
But graphics aside, is the console port a good game?

no, the PC is to the right actually :v:
no, the PC is to the right actually :v:
Really? The one on the left looks like it'd be from a PC because of all the bloom and stuff.
My Brother bought this on the 360. I've watched him play about an hour of it. The FPS is horrible.
Looks like the console version has some color tweaks, more blue, more intense bloom and removed some foliages
It funny because my rig costs as much PS3 did on release and it can handle Crysis on very high, perfectly.
I'm not trying to start a flame war, just stating the fact.
Why can't I do that with my 1000 dollar rig? I mean maybe you play at 640x480 or something
Why can't I do that with my 1000 dollar rig? I mean maybe you play at 640x480 or something
Maybe your 1000 Dollar computer has shitty specs. It's rather cheap to create a computer that can max out the game. I can build a 500 dollar computer that could max out Crysis.
GTX 560
I5 2400k
4GB DDR3
Now, I do not own Crysis, I own Warhead which as I understand is better optimized.
I get around 20-30 FPS on Enthusiast (very high) with 16xQ AA on (effectively, this is maximum), this is not "running perfectly" on 1920x1080. I get 30-40 FPS on Very High with 4x or less AA 1920x1080, which is more or less perfectly because it rarely dips down. For someone to somehow run Crysis on all max with a 500 dollar computer is just bewildering to me unless they are okay with running at an incredibly small resolution.

What? My old 8800 GTX, Q6600, and 4 gigs dd3 can max out Crysis 1. How the fuck can your gtx 560 and i5 not.

Well Can you run at 1920x1080 16xQ Very High Settings with higher than 20-30 fps?

Of course I can. Did I not say Maxed out?
I think the PC screenshot looks far more realistic and natural.
So, yeah, I think the PC version has better lighting.
you mean washed out and dull
ok

running it at 1080p with ~4x AA and very high settings at 30-40 FPS is exactly what you should be getting

It just looks really DUMB in comparison. The PC screenshot looks so much more natural, that was one of the problems with Crysis 2, the tech was more advanced, but some areas were just overdone to fuck and they no longer looked natural.
That was kinda what Crytek had planned all along, though - "videorealism", anyone?
Of course I can. Did I not say Maxed out?
And how can this happen?
I got to the two tanks on the 360 version. It took me AGES to figure out that I need to find the Rocket Launchers located in the mansion place and a small shack by the beach(and possibly elsewhere) to destroy them.
The game didn't make it clear, but now I'm having a blast.

that's like Someone set the SSAO amount to 20, it looks horrible.
EA Gunclub
https://www.facebook.com/GunClub
has been giving away codes all week.. But it is on Facebook so the chances of getting one in time is slim, especially since Microsoft got rid of Individual boxes on their xbox.com redeem page.
And how can this happen?
What? The 8800 GTX surpasses the recommended requirements of Crysis. And a CPU overclocked to 3.0 GHZ was very powerful. It is not hard to max Crysis. And I can max it out with 60 FPS 1680x1050. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out "How can this happen".
Supported OS: Windows XP or Windows Vista
Processor: Intel Core 2 DUO @ 2.2GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
Memory: 2.0 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS/640 or similar
If you are trying to tell me your computer can't max out Crysis 1, there is something seriously wrong.
I think the PC screenshot looks far more realistic and natural.

But the Cryengine 3 shot looks BETTER than real life, I wish we had that much bloom and DoF in real life

Because you're lying? Go do a benchmark of the game on that system and come back and show us your 60FPS on the highest settings. Crytek has even stated the recommended settings were recommended for running the game on HIGH. Not Very High. I guess you got a magical 8800GTX that was able to surpass the performance of even the latest gen of single gpu cards.

So on high at 1680x1050 your card already gets around 1/2 the framerate you claim it got on Very High. You're full of shit delta.
[editline]12th October 2011[/editline]
Some more evidence. In Crysis warhead which ran better according to crytek and various websites as well as many gamers who owned both games, your card achieved this at the specified resolution and settings you claim to have run. We'll use the 9800 GTX as a placeholder as it's a slightly faster but similar card and already gets horrendous performance anyways.

8800gtx sli
8800gtx sli
Even if SLI scaled 100% which it rarely if ever does, you still would only get an AVERAGE of 38fps, that's a far cry from the 60fps on max you claimed you got. Also please direct me to where you claim you had an SLI setup.
In conclusion, you're still full of shit.

I never calimed I had an SLI setup, I forgot to mention it. You can think what you want though, I bench marked ultra at an averaged 60 fps in 2007 on my old 8800GTX SLI, and I am not going to reinstall my old cards just to prove it. Because it really doesn't fucking matter.

Sure thing bro. MAAAGICAL 8800GTX cards that produce amazing performance beyond what some cards from this generation can achieve. Oh wait. Perhaps you meant tri sli. Oops, you still wouldn't get 60fps even if it scaled perfectly.
My dad SLI 2 of those and he didn't get 60 FPS.
Heck, I had 2 AMD 3870s which were 2 steps ahead of a 8800 and I could only get around 40
the crysis bench gives you much higher numbers than what you normally get in game
but still 8800gtx sli can't get 60fps on 1680x1050
my 280s in sli scores 60fps at 1680x1050 on modified high settings

Well perhaps it was just that then, because all i'm doing is going by what the damn benchmark said. No need to become a dick reason to say i'm full of shit just because i'm going by what the damn game said, garrynohome. I am intrigued to see what the current 480 i'm on will do though.

Better than SLI 8800GTX I believe
