Why are there no games like Gran Turismo or Forza for PC? - Games

People who claim there are games with no variety on the PC need to wake up, buy a wheel, play them and get slapped with their own ignorance. rFactor is much more realistic physics wise than anything on consoles and has a fuckload more variety, whatever you want, it exists. Stock road cars, Le Mans racers, F1 (tons of these), F3, F Nippon, DTM, FIA GT, plus there are ridiculous amounts of tracks. Oh, and you CAN race a punto against a Saab: find both damn mods, use the rF championship manager and have them run together. GTR is the same deal, but with more of an inclination to tin-top racers rather than open wheelers

Also, this is not about "hurr durr just mod it", it's about why the content isn't in the game to begin with, like it is on consoles. Besides, rFactor might be accurate, but it doesn't look very nice, which is what I'm more interested in. As long as the physics are passable as realistic, I don't care how accurate they are.

We've already stated that the controls are bad with keyboard and mouse, and that that isn't the reason why there aren't any games like GT or Forza, since there are LOADS of more advanced simulations, demanding even more exact control than their console counterparts. And yet you persist in saying that the bad controls are the only reason there aren't more party racers on PC. Anyone can buy a controller damn it.

I don't think racers are as popular on pc as they are on console. Forza and gran turismo both cost alot to develop and they obviously want to make a profit. That's just my guess.

Don't start with the "out of the box" bullshit because Out of the box has never been the rule. rather the exception. I don't see consoles comming with Keyboards yet they have the capability for it. I don't see the PS3 ship with a mouse yet you can use one in certain games. If you can't deal with peripherals you will be limited in your gaming. Hell, you wouldn't have that HDMI cable you use for your machine, would you? PC is the see all, end all machine because it's the most flexible platform to date. Isn't that just magic!?
