In Which Yogscast single-handedly ruined minecon for notch - Games

Multiple sources confirmed they acted like complete assholes, so I take Notch's side. While stress does play a keep role in annoyance and posting about said annoying, I do admit he probably could have talked with them about it instead of going online and crucifying them.

I'm not going to hunt down shit I read days ago, but there were a LOT of people on Reddit who said they were repeatedly "annoying" and "arrogant" to other people. Again, you can never really trust what ALL people say, I think if both Notch and a bunch of other people said they were, it's quite possible it's true. Notch has never really said anything negative or bad about anything. Hell, even when Bethesda was suing over Scrolls, he was quick to acknowledge how one could make the assumption they were talking about The Elder Scrolls, and he was even humorous enough to challenge them to a game of Quake. I really think, again, what he said was probably true, but he still wasn't exactly in the right to post online about them.

There are multiple VIDEOS of them being completely gracious to the fans, pictures taken with fans with accompanying stories and everything. Are there any [i]videos[/i] of them being assholes at the convention? Don't you think if someone caught anyone from the yogscast being a douchbag they'd record it and throw it on youtube?

This isn't the first time Notch has pulled shit like this. He just spews bullshit and his mass of fanboys follow his every word. And he seems to never, ever admit he's wrong. Seems like a really nice guy, that just doesn't know when to shut his mouth. Or maybe I'm remembering wrong, maybe all his points were right. If he wants to point out flaws, sure, but telling everyone it's a scam on two blog post and all over twitter isn't right.

I liked how he said they were an "isolated island of egos", yet their entire panel showcased the work of the community and how much the community helps towards their own videos.

Notch had no such shackles adorning him because he's an independant developer, he could've taken as long as he wanted to ensure that the game had loads of content in addition to what it has now and be *fairly* stable before calling it "done". Personally I think calling it "beta" when it was still clearly in alpha stage and on top of all that charging more for it shows that Notch didn't need his own developer to rush the game to grab as much dosh as soon at possible. Simon and Lewis are 2 genuinely nice guys and their response to this whole debacle makes that very apparent. If someone sold me out without my permission, then went and bought a $5000 watch instead of paying me to be a panelist at their convention (which incidentally, Mojang is profiting from), and then had the audacity to slander me while i was unable to respond... I'd probably lose my shit. Yogscast really handled this well and they get full marks from me. They did swear on stage, but literally everyone in the house didn't give a shit. Even the young kids didn't care. They probably hear worse on the playground anyhow. Given that Simon and Lewis are 2 harmless guys it hardly warrants burning them at the cross. Mojang should have researched them before inviting them to be keynote speakers at a convention where young kids were going to be. They literally have no grounds to be mad at Simon and Lewis for acting as they always have.

Would they all be making shit up? The Yogs DID swear on stage (in their cheeky Yogscast way) but nobody other than Notch actually cared. Yogscast did sit for a solid 6 hours and do signings, did Notch even do that? Or was he too busy buying new watches and selling out Yogscast to IGN? Plus there's a lot of videos of Minecon and none of them show Yogscast being rude or disrespectful to anyone. If they had done something overly disrespectful to everyone, i think someone would have videotaped it. ALSO, Yogscast even said in their statement that the only time they spoke to Notch the entire time was during the interview, which a lot of people witnessed of course. I'd say the evidence is overwhelming.
