In Which Yogscast single-handedly ruined minecon for notch - Games

TL;DR People are dicks. Best thing to do is laugh at them. Though taking alcohol into consideration even the tiniest spark of emotion is amplified, and knowing a few swedes in my time, they have a tough time letting things go. So the solution to a drunken fuelled case of dickery? Laugh even harder!

Sounds like both Yogscast and Notch are stupid. Notch blew it out of proportion and Yogscast basically said some stupid shit that could easily get taken out of context. I call it a bit of this, a bit of that. If people are interpreting it wrong, then clearly Yogscast needs to check what they are doing because if they are popular, they gotta make sure people won't misinterpret their intentions. And Notch needs to not blow things out of proportion, make vague statements, and act like a spoiled kid. 'Nuff said. [sp]I still hate the vibe that Yogscast gives off. OH MY GEWD SO FOOKIN COOL YOU HAVE CHANNEL VIEWS. I talked to Felicia Day over the phone once, she was very polite. Will Wheaton? Very humble (yet hilarious) guy. People who make famous WoW videos don't bitch at Blizzard being all like "HURR I MAKE UR GAME ALL POPULARZ"[/sp] Also, Notch isn't a professional company at a standpoint. Yogscast wasn't asked to come work for free. They were invited to be special guests so bitching that they weren't paid is stupid. Yes, perhaps Notch could of covered their accomodations, but with only a few thousand people, it's already an expensive event (Although after seeing the price...), so it's not up to us to say whether or not Notch should of covered their accomodation. Regardless, they are "invited" not "hired" and they didn't have to go. They don't have to go meet their fans, they don't have to give publicity to their series, they don't have to meet Notch. They aren't gods, if they don't want to pay like everyone else, fine, they were invited as special guests.

Yogscast was considering not going because they found out a week before that Mojang sold them out to IGN without any warning at all. But they came over on their own dime for the fans, because they're nice people. Yogscast was given 2 free bedrooms but that hardly covers their expenses. And meanwhile Notch is buying new watches. Mojang is a multimillion dollar company, would it hurt them in the slightest to at least pay for Yogscast's stay? These guys sat for 6 hours and did signings and were keynote speakers. It's pretty much standard policy to pay keynote speakers at for-profit conventions like this one.

Notch opened pandora's box by saying things like this. Even if the actual conflict between notch and yogscast is over, he stirred up so many controversial IDEAS with those tweets, like youtubers becoming famous/entitled, how convention guests were treated, the responsibilities of game developers and professional conduct, etc. You could write whole term paper on this stuff he dredged up.

If the kid signing was true then I wouldn't like Yogscast, but since it's not true I could care less. Anyways, their in fucking Vegas, they're going to hear swearing all the time, I know I did when I went to Vegas.

Notch would be a fucking nobody right now if it wasn't for the modding community and podcast community. In the last week I've found out a lot of shit coming out of Notch's closet involving him stealing mods for minecraft and spreading what are essentially rumors about Yogscast after selling their own stream out to IGN he fucked over both groups of people (Yogscast got DDOS'd and lost many days of revenue) and continued to profit. but I'm happy knowing that in a year or two, notch will just be a fucking nobody again because scrolls looks stupid. calling it now, mojang will go under due to lawsuits and all of their money used on vacations.
