Because this is totally related, and it means so much to all of us that some people may have different taste in television shows. Seriously, people who freak the fuck out over people who like MLP are far worse than anyone I know who watches it.
People don't flip out over the fact that people like ponies. People flip out over the fact that ponyfags have to associate it with every single fucking thing on the planet. It's basically the same reason why people don't like other fandoms.

They're like furries, they have to inject their shit into everything they do and ensure everyone knows about how much they like god damn ponies.
This is true. They're like furries, they have to inject their shit into everything they do and ensure everyone knows about how much they like god damn ponies.
One thing I never did like is when people are generalizing every furry and brony. The furries and bronies who shove their furry/pony stuff into people's throats is just a vocal minority of both fandoms. In reality, most of them keep their furry/pony stuff to themselves, and their friends who like that kind of stuff.

Barely anyone complains about non-vocal bronies, you're generalizing about people who generalize.

I wasn't trying to generalize anything. Though, after reading my post again, it does sound like I was generalizing.
-SNIP-, FUCK IT, KEEP TALKING ABOUT PONIES.
In the last week I've found out a lot of shit coming out of Notch's closet involving him stealing mods for minecraft
There was one email that turned out to be a troll. Where did you hear this?

I hate people who classify themselves as "bronies". People know very well that the fandom has a bad reputation and by joining it they need to accept that they will be treated like the worst of said fandom.

It feels like you're implying that people shouldn't call themselves bronies if they don't want to be treated like shit, and that they shouldn't associate themselves with it because of that. I'm not sure how to say it, but that feels like an incredibly bad way to think about it.
this is the worst thread i have seen in ages i swear

The act of calling oneself a brony is to associate with the vocality. There are two different things that you are actually talking about: "My Little Pony fan" (I don't understand how you can like the show, but there you go) and "Seven year old girl"

Also, from what I heard, people like the show because it was made by the same person who created Powerpuff Girls and Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends. Not sure if it's true, though.
Actually, there is such a thing as a non-vocal brony, you just never hear about them because they're, well, non-vocal.
Ah, yes. You completely missed the fucking point of what I was saying. As this is only the "fandom" for one show and not an encompassing theme like say, furries or weeaboos, the term for a non-vocal member of the fandom is "My Little Pony fan".

Now don't get me wrong, I like 40K rather a lot but it seems here that they can inject their fandom into all they do and nobody cares. The Point I'm making is that people seem to have selective standards, I guess I'm simplifying this down a bit too much but my point is that 40K fans do the things Furries get called out for and get away with it. My think is that people are just using these things as an excuse to have a go at a fandom they just plain don't like and keep the air that they are making a valid point.

Fuck, I do it in my head all the time with Steampunk too.
Do they? Last I checked WarFortyK fans were "dice-rolling tabletop sperglords"
Who cram their fandom down yer throat at each and every opportunity. Well some do anyway.
Who cram their fandom down yer throat at each and every opportunity. Well some do anyway.
The very thought of it is heresy. *irony*
So we've gone from yogscast, to notch man baby, to ponies, to 40k.
If you actually watched it you would find out that they are taking the piss out of it more than anything.
Actually, there is such a thing as a non-vocal brony, you just never hear about them because they're, well, non-vocal.
I'd love it if every "brony" were non-vocal. Pretty much anyone with a MLP avatar, or who posts about how they like MLP, or who calls themselves a Brony is being quite vocal about it. If you want to be non-vocal then don't bring up your weird fetishism anywhere.
Now don't get me wrong, I like 40K rather a lot but it seems here that they can inject their fandom into all they do and nobody cares. People dislike bronies because they're vocally obsessing over a show marketed towards a children's demographic and if bronies can't see that then they really need to take a few steps back and re-evaluate themselves. The brony problem is even worse on SA since there are people there who are well into their 30's who literally look at My Little Pony Sex Cartoons. They had to ban the discussion of it because it was just so fucking creepy and weird. If that doesn't scream LATENT PEDOPHILIA & CHILDHOOD TRAUMA then i don't know what does.
If he really is the "man baby" everyone calls him, ignore him. If he craves attention don't give it to him.
The problem is that he doesn't crave attention, he simply tries to bury his remarks by acting like nothing has happened. He could have at least called off all the fanboys who were DDOSing Yogscast... He would have saved face a bit at least. Instead he just let his rude remarks simmer with the Minecraft community and as a result he got in a lot of shit from a lot of fans.
I haven't seen anybody inject 40K stuff as much as MLP fans and furries. Can we get back to the first topic or what the fuck
What the fuck is going on in here, jesus christ guys.
I haven't seen anybody inject 40K stuff as much as MLP fans and furries.
It would be stupid to deny that every single fanbase does it, because every fanbase DOES do it. You probably don't notice as much with 40K stuff because you don't mind it, but if it's somthing you dislike most of the anti-bronies/furries feel like they HAVE to complaing about it, they HAVE to show what they found on there fourms and to there friends who then also complain about it. It's not the bronies or the furries showing this stuff off, it's the people who feel the need to complain about an image they saw on the internet so they spread it around to other complainers and then they complain about the spread not seeming to know it was them that spread it around in the first place. Of course you get bronies and furries spreading stuff but if you actually stopped to look you'd see most of it comes from people that feel the need to complain. Nobody forces them to go to deviant art or furaffinity or a ponybased fourm, but as soon as there eyes lock on to a picture of a pony their hands fly onto the keyboard and begin to type words of rage like a man possesed. I'm not a big fan of ponies but if i see somthing pony related i'm grown up enough to ignore it and get on with my life.
If you actually watched it you would find out that they are taking the piss out of it more than anything.
Also that girl they are friends with has a thing about it. [editline]28th November 2011[/editline]
Also that girl they are friends with has a thing about it.
Still, I guess this is all over as quite rightly posted above, nobody cares any more. [editline]28th November 2011[/editline] Ok how I managed to quote myself I don't know, but I'll leave that there because it's funny.

Thank you, Mario. But your ending is in another castle.
Someone lock this thread. It's like an old corpse people decided to stuff with ponies.
This is like beating a dead pony.
