If what Notch says is true, I'm on his side. I like Yogscast. I find their videos, podcasts and everything funny. But writing "fuck you" to a person asking for an autograph is just disgusting. Especially if it's a kid. Joke or not.

Since when did Minecraft get so popular? (Dohohohoho) Still it was quite funny watching this kind of thing happen, when Minecraft started to become popular and sites and let's plays and ego fests started I wondered who would end up out on top. But fuck man, if you have that kind of subscriber base and worship I'd lose it as well. You're basically turning up at an event where most people would regard you as famous (regardless of weather you deserve it or not) It's going to go to your head.

I think it's more of a misunderstanding, I'm not a huge fan of either side, but to be honest if Notch is so up in arms about bad language around kids, he should have also toned down his interview with Yogscast saying he'd fuck simons mom and stuff, everyone knows YC fanbase is basically 12-18 year olds. Seems a bit hypocritical to me.

There were some kids who lost their signed mousepads and broke down crying, we even had one mom freaking out and crying her eyeballs out until we had taken her to Mojang to get another pad signed because they accidentally left the last one at our booth while waiting for a drawing from SamCube. What would you do if your hero said 'damnit' on their twitter? Nothing. Now imagine if you asked for an autograph from your hero and they just wrote 'fuck you' on the paper. This entire argument isn't about language or being 'offensive', it's about the fact that they basically blew off everybody and thought they were top shelf shit meanwhile everyone else there saw eachother as equals, INCLUDING Mojang. I was with the team for at least a couple hours of the day, whether it be in this boardroom or that restaurant or even in their hotel suite - they never once were like 'hurr we're rich look at all these kiddies loving our game all other games suck'. Same for most of the exhibitors and panelists.

Notch is the genious behind Minecraft, and Yogscast is the guys who makes videos I watch whenever I want to by using the father's creation and influence. This really came as a shock when I first heard about Simon and Lewis being pricks 'n dicks. I've met a lot of douchebags in my life, and because of that, my blood can easily boil whenever I see or hear about such acts. Notch is getting alot of shit thrown at him because of his first tweet. He didnt want to say anything and that pissed off people. Now that he basically said what they did, those who are on each side are fighting. This is either a huge culture smash or general misunderstanding or they are huge pricks. Most likely one of the first two.

Also I think notch needs to realize that the word fuck is hardly a reason to get pissed right the fuck off. Notch has a bad sense of humor as you can tell by the interview and minecon was not setup to be kid safe.

A lot of you guys don't seem to realize that they didn't actually right anything on the kids paper. They were just talking about it and most likely joking around.

Is it just me, or does every assume that they actually wrote "fuck you" down, because notch's tweet doesn't say that. It says they SAID they would do it, as in a joke.

Wow, I didn't imagined Yogcast was like that. I didn't watched their videos extensively but what they did is totally wrong. Now I know I'll never support them with their stuff. But if you say Notch has bad sense of humor... I had to be in Minecon myself to know what happened really.

i can't imagine anyone in the yogscast, certainly not simon or lewis, thinks they're responsible for minecraft's popularity. also the yogscast isn't ~one person, I would really like to know who said these particular things

It's considered normal that special guests and press to get free entry and all access. These guys just came from Gamescom and that bf3 thing, and they expected more of the same. They had to pay their own tickets and entry to an event they are part of. I wouldn't even bother myself.

They don't get to make everyone else their bitch and act like they're so important they should get what they want when they want. Even Curse had to pay for their own booth, and they were the ones organizing the convention initially! Additionally, MineCon wasn't a tradeshow. The other ones were. This was an event for a game where kids were supposed to have fun, even the show managers knew that.
