It only outputs anything when it fails because of that because I was interested to see if ALL the texture files were newer versions.
I'm just getting errors for all the spawn icons, and nothing spawns either...
The models appear to work fine (I can spawn the non-ragdoll props and collide with them, etc), but the textures are invisible in-game.
The way i have folders set up is \Portal 2\Materials\Subfolder (I.E "\garrysmod\garrysmod\addons\Portal 2\materials\props"), am i doing something wrong?

If you didn't alter any of the paths of when you copied them over (for example, don't make a folder in materials, then put all the material folders that you copied into that folder) then it should be fine, I'm guessing

This is the problem, rendering spawn icons is what causes the crash not the spawning (although I assume that would crash if you manually spawned it)

I managed to spawn a reflection cube.
Are there two different reflect cube models? Because it would seem like the one I spawned had smaller hole things on the sides where the lens are held, they look smaller in diameter. Either that or I'm just seeing things.
I keep getting an error for everyone and it says Error unable to fix or patch, what ever and then when I go back into Gmod my model materials are still fucked up, I checked everything, I made sure the fixed ones weren't in the old ones.

Did you run it while gmod was closed? If you have it set up as an addon you need to restart gmod after making changes to the addon (in my experience anyway)

After seeing a few threads regarding Portal 2 content in gmod I did a bit of research as I really wanted to use the models. Eventually someone (Ben1066 and Matsilagi) posted which part of the VTF files needed to be changed to get the the textures to load in gmod.
As its a very slow process (and not very easy for some people) I decided to write a (really) small little tool to do all of the VTF files for you.
So I present the "Portal 2 file fixer", and a step by step guide on how to get the content to work in gmod. Hopefully this solution will help people till Garry updates Gmod to support the newer version of the VTF format (or maybe its Valve who need to update the engine?)
To extract the files I recommend you use [url=http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?p=26]GCFScape[/url]. You need to open the "pak01_dir.vpk" file.
Firstly extract the models and materials from the Portal 2 VPK file into a gmod addon folder (Create an info.txt for it)
Run the batch file mentioned in [url=http://www.facepunch.com/threads/642683-Step-by-Step-for-adding-L4D-models-to-Gmod]this[/url] thread.
It must be run from INSIDE of your models folder
Once you have run that you can run this program, the instructions are quite simple. Simply paste in the path to your Portal 2 materials folder
(For example C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\Username\garrysmod\garrysmod\addons\Portal2\materials)
If you do not go directly to the materials folder it may take a long time (Just doing my portal2 folder took me 5 mins as opposed to 30 seconds for just the material folder)
Once you have told the program the folder you want it to do, just sit back and wait. Once its done it will tell you.
That's all there is to it, a lot of the models seem to be just effects and a couple seem to crash Gmod when you try to render their spawn icon. I dunno if this is a problem with my install of Gmod, the textures or just the models.
A little disclaimer and a warning, this program MAY corrupt the texture files (although it hasn't happened to me, it is entirely possible). If this happens you will just need to re-extract the files.
It will only modify files with "VTF" file extensions that are of the correct version, but just to be on the safe side don't run it on a folder with anything other than the portal 2 texture files in.
Now for the actual program. It needs .NET 3.0. If you only have 2.0 and really cannot upgrade I could rebuild it for 2.0.
Its opensource and available on Github if anyone wants to look at it / tell me how bad it is / try to improve it etc. It wasn't intended for public release (I wrote it with the intention of just using it my self, but a couple of people showed interest in it) so its pretty bad but it works.

When ever I fix it says with all of them Error can not fix, I made sure I didn't fix them already, and when I load Gmod the models are all blank, and I did not run the game while fixing. Got any help?
Are the models blank when you spawn them? If you have already rendered the spawn icons before running this fix they will look like its not working till you spawn the model.

Always come out blank, try fixing it a second time and it never works
mm I am not quite sure what could cause that. Have you re-extracted the materials from the VPK?
I have some problems. I don't really understand the instructions.

I tried everything, extracted materials and models in addons folder than run batch in the models folder, nothing apperad when entered in game. Than made a Portal2 folder in garrysmod/garrysmod/models and pasted there the materials and models again and batched >> now the the Portal2 folder appeard in game but just the models appeard and their icon didn't show and after a time crashed!?
Now i deleted all the garrys mod because it become 8 gb :)), a mess. I'll wait for reply than try all over again. I really want to make maps for portal2.

I do like the models but my one disapointment is that Atlas and P-body are not included, you can in fact import them into Gmod and load them with out crashing

The errors are normal
I have sucessfully decompiled atlas
I used the tools mentioned above
I extracted all of my vpks files to my portal2 folder
created a path to it in the Alien Swarm SDK
then decompiled using studiocompiler WITH portal 2 model viewer open
it decompiled :) qc and all
most of the files are in example.dmx.smd format
change them just to smd they should open fine
you may not be able to just open up the mesh smd
your modeling program will probably throw an error or crash
to fix this open up the smd in a text editor and find a line with only
smds first list the bones then the skeleton then the mesh data
the data presented in groups of 4
first a texture then 3 lines the pattern repeats
find a group with only one or 2 lines its probably the cause of the problem
just copy the last line in the group it should work fine
the mesh may not be perfect
