I miss cow games in multiplayer. I loved killing the host's Cow King without him/her knowing and then watching the reaction when breaking the news to them.
holy shit a megathred finally
Yup. I went poking around but I couldn't find one.
You son of a bitch... you're one of THEM.
I do that all the time on my hammerdin :smug:
I want Diablo II with 2011 graphics... I don't think Diablo III will fit that bill :(

It plays just like diablo, has good graphics, awesome skills, great levels and enemy design, good boss fights, and pretty awesome ragdolls (example, skeletons and golems break apart dynamically.) I'm sure it's been recommended in this thread before. Anyway, I'm thinking of trying out Median XL, it's been aeons since I last played Diablo 2 and I figure if I hop back in I should mix things up a bit. What classes do you guys recommend for Median XL? I hear that it seems like the abilities of all the classes was designed based on the icons they had lying around, so with that implication I imagine a barbarian isn't exactly what a barbarian should be and such.

Everything else besides the skills are fine, and it's been a while since I played, so they might have changed, but there's a lot of skills that just don't fit right.
Diablo 3 is amazing on it's mechanics alone, but the art style has really grown on me as well: The only way I imagine it could disappoint me is if it had really bland and conservatively balanced loot.
All I see is brown. HYPER REALISM CONFIRMED

I think maybe I'll try a sorceress or something since I love spellcasting, should be fun.

I love it. I also tried Nox and have played through Diablo II several times. I've tried D&D Daggledale and like 95% of games being released, it's simplified and consolized. I love ANY loot game.. and it's driving me NUTS that DIII still has no release date... Oh and Median XL, I don't know what all the fuss is about. I thought the classes were confusing and it just felt like a more frantic DII... maybe I am missing something?

It's disappointing, and it's also no wonder why about 80% of the games I play are old ones. I'll give my opinion here about median XL once I try it for a bit, I'm installing it now.
Let me know what you find about Median XL.. I played it for a few hours and just shrugged my shoulders on why it's so loved... I am open minded though.
Ah yes, Diablo II, one of the high points of my Summer of 2010. It's a shame really, I got screwed over big time in the end - I always seemed to end up in Baal Rushes, which left me severely underleveld and unprepared on Hell difficulty. Sob story aside, my hopes for Diablo 3: -Open-world type gameplay (Server-Browser based MMO's are BIG 'thumbs down'.) -Larger, more open/expanded quest lines. (The short amount of quests in Diablo II made the game feel repetitive really fast.) Still, maybe I'll re-install the game...for old times sake.
Let me know what you find about Median XL.. I played it for a few hours and just shrugged my shoulders on why it's so loved... I am open minded though.
I just got through the Den of Evil. I'm playing a Paladin, I browsed the skill trees for Sorceress and Necro and didn't like em. Paladin is interesting though. I can definitely see what people mean about the "unfitting" skills. The descriptions also seem too cluttered and it takes me like 5 minutes to finally realize what each skill does. Paladin isn't too bad though, they gave him an "evil" or "holy" way to develop him, I'm rolling with the evil way because the skills seem more interesting, and I love the concept of using "evil" powers to do good deeds. I like the new content, things are harder, I've yet to die but gold is hard to get. Possibly TOO hard. Most objects sell for like 1-5 gold and I can only identify essential equipment as I have no cash to do anything other than that. I haven't really played enough to form if I like it or not fully yet. It seems good though. Also, is it just me or has FP been dying for 10 minutes at random all day today?
median xl is to complicated, and way to many things just instakill you.
You know what I miss? Diablo 3. Because I haven't heard shit about it in a long time.
well then you're probably not looking too hard they just released wallpapers, and the runestone info
Did they release all the classes that are going to be in the game? The last one I remember was the monk I think.
median xl is to complicated, and way to many things just instakill you.
true but is much better than the boring duped and overpowered vanilla one
Did they release all the classes that are going to be in the game? The last one I remember was the monk I think.
Demon hunter.
median xl is to complicated, and way to many things just instakill you.
I love complicated, but instantkill monsters are pretty lame. I'd have to see how they're implemented though to see if it's akin to L4D's witch (which is okay) or if it's just like TEE HEE, I WAS HIDING BEHIND THE DOOR AND WHEN YOU WALKED THROUGH I GOT PISSED AND RAPED YOU! If it's the latter, then that's really lame. If there's time to react or defuse the situation then I won't get too antsy about it.
Demon hunter.
I think I remember her. Some bitch with a crossbow, right?
well then you're probably not looking too hard they just released wallpapers, and the runestone info
Wallpapers are nice.
Oh derp. After kicking mass amounts of ass, I just killed Blood Raven and such. Got TONS of great gear, including two uniques. (A chestpiece and a belt.) I go back to the mausoleum basing my memory off Diablo 2, turns out the one I ran into without checking the text, I end up in an uber-dungeon or whatever. I get mauled by super-speed zombies before I can attempt to run back out and die, as does my NPC companion that I was rewarded for killing Blood Raven. Oh hell no, I won't stand for this! I charge back in hoping to be fast enough to grab my gear back, but I died within a second. I learned my lesson - NEVER TRANSITION UNTIL READING WHERE IT GOES. Good thing I take games so lightly, I just scoffed and will have to scrounge. At least my 800 gold coins are safe in my stash. I do like the Paladin's skill sets in Median XL, right now I really don't need to rely on gear so I'm not too worried. Retarded me aside, the action in Median XL is quite good. I'm loving my abilities to rip through hordes of enemies with thunderbolt-type thingies and being able to use some weird melee-magic attacks that involve mind-control. Completely nonsensical for a paladin but it's quite awesome regardless.
