Wait, I'm confused now. I just booted it up and loaded my paladin, right when I spawn, my corpse is at my feet. I looted it and got all my crap back. Is that a bug or is that intentional? Seems pointless to have the death penalty be "No gear until you save and exit."

I sure wouldn't want my hell-diffculty characters to die and lose all my equipment if I couldn't get my corpse back.

It seems really odd to me from a designing standpoint having a penalty that corrects itself but yeah I can get why they did it. I was disappointed by the lack of the Cathedral in the Tristram part in Diablo II. Also, I was happy to learn that Adria survived the attacks on Tristram. I sense a soul in search of answers.

Lord of Destruction is incredible fun at LAN parties.

I am surprised at the sheer lack of quality Diablo II style games out there. I for one, loved Titan Quest and Torchlight but other than that, there hasn't been anything as solid as Diablo II since then. And with Diablo III's eternal dev cycle, who knows when we'll see another. I caught myself loading up DII LOD the other night, creating a Barbarian and having a blast even though graphics are horrid (D2MULTIRES makes it tolerable though) --

Trying to find a cheap offer online right now because I seem to have lost my CD case (with the key). Recently got taken by the urge to play again.

I got my DII/LOD box on a sale on gogamer.com -- It was $19.99 -- Sadly, that was the cheapest I have found for a clean set.

Cheapest I found is 12,99 Euro for the keys only, for D2+ LOD.

as a gamer of the modern generation I was never able to play masterpieces like diablo, i seem to remeber playing fallout 2 and wishing there to be a fantasy game int the same style, this is close enough.

I finally found my CD key, after months of searching for it, reinstalled- created a server, within seconds 5 spam bots came on and spammed paragraphs of text on my screen. When did Diablo 2 get so bad? It was never like that before. My heart broke to see such a great game in such shambles, I got accused of being a 'pickit noob' by anyone who actually joined who wasn't a bot and they quit as soon as they called me that. I've just been playing solo since then. :(

I personally never liked playing with random people on Battle.net, since most of the time they would just run around doing whatever. It's so much better when you have a few friends, or at least people who can actually work together.
