I had the sudden urge to start playing again. Here we go again!
I wonder how the Diablo 3 beta will work.. will it be Multiplayer or Singleplayer or what?
Probably full or half Act 1 playable in single and multi
Probably gonna be ages before someone says something, but we should all start new characters together.
I played a rogue in Diablo, and an Amazon and Assassin in DiabloII. So one might say the Demon Hunter is pretty much designed specifically for people like me.
Nonetheless, the Demon Hunter just doesn't seem that interesting to me. Maybe because the whole 'cloaked figure super badass dark antihero' stereotype has already been done to death. It seems so overdone that it's almost a parody of itself.
I'm not sure what class I'm going to play. It's a shame there is no real defensive oriented melee character. Defense was my favorite mastery tree in Titan Quest.
Any people here who have gotten the piece-of-shit BetaOpt SystemChecker.exe working? I would really like to attempt to join the Diablo 3 beta but it just keeps saying "There was a problem sending data bla bla bla" and I'm ripping my already few hairs out. I've tried every single trick I've found with Google and NOTHING HAS WORKED!
I've tried logging out of battle.net and clearing the cookies, turning off firewall, turning off antivirus, starting in Safe Mode with networking. I would really like to have a chance at the beta, but it seems the bullshit program isn't letting me.

Change the language at the bottom right of the page to English (EU) or English (US) depending on your location.

Actually the guys from Iron Lore started up a new company called Crate Entertainment or something and are working on what is essentially another Titan Quest game only it's not Titan Quest it's called Grim Dawn.

If you check out some of the screenshots I think you'll find it's gonna be a game in the same vein as Titan Quest, only with the undead and guns.

That does look EXTREMELY similar to TQ... I mean, the HUD and inventory screens are practically identical... But that's not necessarily a bad thing. I could see myself buying it even if it was just a reskinned TQ.
I'm pretty confident that when Diablo 3 comes out, we're going to see that the Diablo clones have surpassed the original. Any other day, it would have made me a little sad and a little scared to see Diablo overtaken by imitators... But now it might actually be a good thing.
Like I would not be surprised to next see the headline "Diablo III delayed because Bobby Kotick wants to personally take a shit in each game box that ships"

If the rest of the HUD's similarities to TQ are any indication, the icons are: Melee weapons, ranged weapons, armor, magic items/potions/charms, and the buyback section.

In fact I'm pretty sure that's how 99% of games with similar Single-player and Multi-player modes work.
I'm almost completely over this, which is a complete shame. I was hoping to be able to dump another 1000 hours into Diablo 3 the was I did Diablo 2.

All these shitty decisions they're making are likely to increase the piracy rate, not decrease it like they're hoping to do. It'll take people a little longer to work around the online requirement, but I guarantee that they'll figure out a way to do it.
It's been done with other games, right?
I should probably note at this point that I'm not supporting / endorsing warez here, just saying other people are extremely likely to do it.

I've been playing Median xl, and having a blast. Just finished act IV, dying more against diablo than I did the entire rest of the game playing as a naginata assassin. Can't wait to see what baal does to me.

Give the rights to blizzards games to brother laz (median xl developer), or have him be the lead developer or something. I feel like he knows how to improve on diablo 2 and not casualize it , so why couldn't it work for the other games?
Welp, that's that. I really though that this would be a game I'd get. I thought that blizzard hadn't fallen this far but i guess I was wrong. I suppose my money could go towards a diablo clone that doesn't require always on DRM bullshit instead. Anyone know about any that have some kind of item customization system similar to diablo 2's gems/runes and sockets? I've always enjoyed that.
