Heck, anything that you KNOW is lurking, looking for you, while you try to complete the level. I never got past the first level with these guys, but loved the rest of the game.
I've finished the demo for Amnesia but am yet to pick up the full game..
Playing any level in Half-Life and its mods when you are at extremely low health, and the AI noding for the enemy soldiers causes them to freely wander the halls. Never knew crouch-walking let you sneak better until now, too.

I disabled the pop-up notification that shows a rebel uprising in Victoria II by mistake, I was over looking at my relations with Dai Nam when suddenly a million red and black squares all over the map. Scared the shit out of me.

Those things scared me shitless.
One of my favourite games ever. It had awesome weapons like the control tether thing and the fact you could damage each others arms and stuff was fucking awesome, especially on the big mech things.

How do you guys manage to get Stalker to be so creepy and atmospheric? I'd love to play the same Stalker you guys are. Is the mods that you install? Because vanilla stalker for me is more like "fuck I need ammo ok got that fuck why is this gun so inaccurate fuck why does it take 2 bullets to kill me and 20 to kill him"
Or is it the playstyle? Someone please clue me in because it seems like it's got potential to be pretty atmospheric.

I feel like I'm doing something wrong, because I have the game at max settings and it doesn't look half as good as the videos I've seen.

Take the game a bit slower, find stashes and raid military and bandit bases when you get more medkits and ammo.
