I must've logged like, 2 hours and I feel nothing when I play it. In pitch darkness, with headphones, at 3am in the morning. Some people just need to grow a pair.
I see an enemy and I actually go "oh lawd" then I go and run and hide somewhere. Then I get out and continue on as normal. I was disappointed the game didn't frighten me
You should get your amygdala checked.

Not feeling fear is like not feeling pain.
Sure, it's convenient, but you're gonna get screwed in the end because you won't know something's wrong.
I never found LSD to be scary, creepy, or any of that shit.
I spent all of that time getting it set up, expecting it to be as scary and weird as people made it out to be, and while it sort of did deliver on the weird part, I never found it to be scary or creepy at all...
Probably was just me though
Yeah, I started playing it earlier and it wasn't as scary as I thought. Hell, I was barely creeped out. Then again, I'm only on day 21

Maybe you played it wrong. If you play it and focus on not being scared, and thinking it's just another cheap scare game, then you won't enjoy it. If you come in expecting to be scared, you will. Same goes with any game, if you have a negative opinion before you play it, you probably won't enjoy it. I say this because my brother and a friend thought it was bullshit and said it's probably not scary at all. They played and acted like it was nothing. They didn't enjoy it.
The fucking Grim Reaper from Grabbed by the Ghoulies. That ambience doesn't help.
If anyone here ever played that super old game Corridor 7, you'd know about that fucking skeleton face that actually popped up on the screen at random times. just to fuck with you.

OH GOD ME TOO
Anyone else find the patriarch from killing floor somewhat disturbing. He doesn't freak me out outright, instead its his whole backstory that I find disturbing.
Kevin Clamely, the Patriarch's original identity, was the CEO and founder of Horzine Biotech, the company responsible for the outbreak in London. He was hired by the government to create the perfect soldier—something that wouldn't experience pain or fear, and wouldn't question or reason. London was to be used as a staging ground—a test of Horzine's accomplishments. Kevin thought of the clones as his "children" and "family" because they were the only companions he had left.
Sergeant Masterson was Horzine's last project before the outbreak. He escaped from the Biotics Labs below the city through the sewer system to the city above, hoping that he could rebel against his mad creators. Sadly, this is what Kevin wanted all along; Masterson led his soldiers into combat, and they were killed just as Kevin had planned. With the British Disaster Response Force eliminated, nobody could stand in the way of the clones.
Horzine's methods were deemed too immoral even for such a controversial project, and were shut down. However, the project didn't want to be shut down. In a second complex deep underneath the city of London, the experiments continued.
Eventually, he realised that his work was in jeopardy. His scientists were leaving and he feared that someone may reveal his secret work to a world that wouldn't understand or even allow it. In a final act to save his dream, he asked the remaining scientists to take the most advance pieces of technology at their disposal, and use the methods they had perfected over the course of their work to implant them into him:
An updated version of the cloaking device used on project Stalker
Three modified neuro-stimulation systems similar to those used on project Guardian
A nerve-controlled weapons platform on his left arm.
Finally, he underwent the same "gene-enhancing" process that all the specimens underwent, but with all the safeties off and the process running at full capacity. As Kevin walked out of the test chamber, he knew he had become as perfect as any human could hope to be.
When humans started murdering his "children", he knew that it was time to take the fight to them. Armies fell before him, none seemed to be able to kill him, or even harm him. He would continue his work alone, and create and protect more of his specimens until the day someone could finally work out how to kill him.
If you listen to his lines its ever freakier, how he considers those abominations his children.
Oh wow, I didn't know that was the origin of the Patriarch.
And apparently Masterson is an experiment, too?
Does this mean every Killing Floor round that ends in the successful killing of the Patriarch is pretty much "Humanity's final victory"? :v:
Brothers in Arms : Hells Highway can be pretty damn freaky.
Especially in the resistance bunker when [sp]the dead kids face flashes on your screen all bloodied[/sp]

Wait, so Masterson is a specimen?
Well even with patriarch dead humanity still has to deal with the rest of those experiments.
Just sic Harry Enfield on them. The apocalypse would be over within the hour.
Someone mentioned Amnesia: Dark Descent. Why are we still discussing this?

He sounds like a bitch when he dies though. Kinda put off the whole badass aura he was giving off.
I just read through this entire thread and it's 4 am and I'll probably not sleep. Good thing my dog is in my room.
Robbie the Rabbit from Silent Hill used to give me nightmares.

Combine a fear of underwater levels with being 1000 feet in the air, and you have one of the most horrifying levels ever designed. This level was hard. Harder than nintendo hard.
Is it just me, or is every embedded video in this thread turning into the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Controller video?

It's controlling the videos duh
Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2 gave me nightmares, he was massive and fast. He was also very sneaky by coming up behind you when you didn't expect it.
The music that is attached to the sauce makes me want to throw up.
Apparently there is a genre of music that drives you insane from anxiety, and this is one of them:

Does anyone else get a splitting headache and feel sick after listening for around 2 minutes?
I thought it was a load of crap how the music 'drives you insane from anxiety' but holy shit.

It might be the low, constant background noise.

I got this game when I was a child (Around 5 at the time), who was still afraid of nearly everything. My mother bought it for me, thinking it would just be a nice, cute, and relaxing game where you played as a dolphin. I never made it past the 3rd level.
