I was thinking painkiller or serious sam type big enemys. I never played god of war.
On topic:
Boomers from L4D1 always freaked me out, Because they had what seemed like a super high spawn rate.

I just like how the biggest enemies in GoW3 are the level you run around on. Climbing all over them, stabbing them in the eyes and whatnot.

Makes no sense how Cronos dies, though. He couldn't just smack you like a fly, or shake you off, or something?
I've been playing LSD all day and the sound of heavy breathing started playing just now. I'M SCARED
How do you do that?
I was reading this thread and there were a lot of post about how STALEKR is a very creepy game, and I was like meh, it isn't even scary so far.
I just got to the part of the game when you have to go into this lab, and I was starting to get a little creeped out when I heard a loud groaning. I enter this one room and suddenly these boxes rise up and get thrown at me. I shat my pants, and quit the game.

STALKER, X18?
Am I the only one who finds giant enemies fucking terrifying?
Shadow of the Colossus must terrify you then?
Speaking of, that game actually terrified me to, but not because of the Colossus. It was just due to the fact that you were a man, in a huge Forbidden Land, the only other things there being his horse, a dead girl, 16 colossi, and a twisted spirit (I honestly don't remember if Dormin is a god or just a spirit).

Those guys are only in 1 level, and it's not that long of a level. Plus, if you have your volume on (I didn't they make a deep throated GRRRR sound), you can hear it change from normal music to battle music, so you can anticipate their coming with your lead.
I'll help you through it if you need it.
You'd be making a mistake not to buy this game just because of the one level, though.
When I was younger, my older friend was telling me about Half-Life 2 and Ravenholm. Admittedly, it sounded terrifying.
When I was older, I rented out the Xbox version of HL2 to give it a try (which eventually led to me loving it) and when I came to Ravenholm I just 'Noped' on the spot.
All those people screaming about Yabba and their icing, but the true horror is that they are all still conscious, just blind puppets controlled by cranio-conjugal parasites. It would be advisable to keep them away from your "nosecone", too, even if it's been debeaked like Lamaar.

2 weird creepy games I always thought, They are two that stand out in my memory from a young kid.
Oh god I just had a big scare from Oblivion. Long-story short, I have many mods installed, including OOO, and I was doing the quest to get the rumare scales. Well, I was swimming in the lake, when I see something faint in the water below me (keep in mind I used to play with Natural Water on which made the water clearer, but I switched to OBGE Liquid Water). I think it's just a rock and move on to the next marker. Suddenly, I hear the battle music start up and I don't see anything. I slowly turn around and the biggest slaughterfish in the history of forever comes up in my face and one-shots me. I jumped out of my seat, ahg.

I don't mean to advertise for 4pp, but their horror playthroughs are comedic gold.
I just saw UFOs in LSD.

Yes, it scared the shit out of me, and also I was searching a abandoned house, when I went upstairs, I heard a groaning, and then this Invisible monster came out of nowhere and started attacking me.

In correlation to the post before, Nihilanth does actually say a few interesting things.

Which reminds me, can anyone tell me exactly how to pronounce Nihilanth? I usually cycle through three different pronunciations at random, and they still sound wrong.

I like to pronounce it "nil-il-anth" or "ni-l-anth".
