Wow, it seems like Nightmare house 2 had nothing original at all. It had mannequins from Condemned and shadow people from Metro 2033. Then all that is left are the dumb scares that simply surprise you with stuff like turn around and there's a zombie man.

Still a really cheap scare. I don't see how it is scary to have something pop up in your face with some music. It surprises me, but really, it's not something that I will fear or have nightmares about, or atleast have problems sleeping after playing.

So when a big name releases a game everything they do is original, but when some guys make a mod they're just copying ideas. You really think condemned or metro were the first ones to rig up these scares? You think they couldn't come up with them on their own? That's small minded of you.

And who said it was a game? An idea can come from anywhere. They point, which you've missed, is that where the idea came from doesn't matter, because as imaginative beings we can ALL come up with them, it's the execution that makes it unique.
Be honest. A game in the same genre that uses pretty much the exact same things, but put them in a different theme, suddenly is original?
I always thought Nightmare House 2 was more of a tribute of famous horror elements, clichés and scares. I mean for example it was pretty obvious Emily was inspired by Alma from FEAR who in turn was inspired from Asian horror movies, some of the creatures are in style with Silent Hill/Lovecraftian mythos and etc.
So it shouldn't come to a surprise that a lot of things from Nightmare House 2 will be a lot similar from other games/movies, hell the title even screams the fact.

The stalkers from dead space 2, they only come whenever your low on ammo and medkits. Then they just make these subtle unnerving noises. Then when your walking you just see something running in the corner of your eye. Soon you start seeing them running around walls, and peeking around corners at you. Then all of a sudden you hear a charging noise and a scream. and you have no clue where its attacking from. Even if you see it you'll most likely be hit before you can kill it mid charge. They make me paranoid as fuck.
Oh and i think it was already said but the ichynosaurs from the hl series scare the shit out of me don't know how i managed to beat opposing force but it took me a lotta bricks.
Then another brick was shat at the beginning of hl2 damn you valve.
If those things return in hl3/ep3 i am turning cheats on.
