I really wish more games had creepy easter eggs like the one in hitman contracts.
I kept spamming a shotgun at him after I turned around.

Probably lae, but for those of you who have HL2, go to the source sounds.gcf and open sounds ambient, then do creatures. Listen to anything marked with town. :ohdear:
That part in HL1 where you go down the ladder, and then 2 zombies spring out of nowhere. I threw a grenade down there as soon as I managed to get up the ladder.
What is perhaps the only creepy Nintendo logo in existence for a game:

This isn't something that scares me or anything, but should be brought up. The Hall Of Tortured Souls easter egg in Excel 95. For those who've never heard of it, it's essentially a first person mini-game with Doom-esque graphics that was hidden in the program. It's famous due to a secret room within it that features a picture of all the developers of MS Office 95. After it was discovered, people accused Bill Gates of being the Anti-Christ by using this mini-game as well as bullshit numerology (in which the math was incorrect). People believed that it was supposed to be a cry for help from the developers, but in reality, they just put it there to get some credit, and they've hidden mini-games in future versions of MS Office. Again, it's not something that scares me, but worth noting.
OP, hate to be a party pooper, but I owned a R4i which gave the same error, due to the games anti-piracy. no creepy shit here, just outdated flashcard

You bring her to safety, her innocence seen through her childish actions, only for fucking monsters to pop out and try to kidnap and rape her. There were parts where you had to finish a puzzle to move on to the next area, only for you to forget her and realize she's being dragged away by those monsters. The sheer terror going through your mind as you race to kick their asses and get your princess back. The helplessness you feel is just painful. If you've ever been in a relationship you cherish, you'd know the feeling of being helpless when someone you care about is being hurt.
That one scene in KOTOR where you are sucked into this pale white room with only this one alien in there speaking this out of world language, and your answers meant your life There you go! That scene!
In Castlevania SotN, there was this super freaky "Confessional booth" that felt so eerie and out of place. (skip to 06:55) The music is spooky as shit, and the encounters in the room are random. Small stuff that are completely out of place like this scares the living shit out of me

After the opening cutscene when you knew it was under the sand somewhere and you're walking around and you suddenly start to sink and the sand turns black as the hole gets deeper. Then when you aim your hookshot you're constantly being pulled closer to it's mouth. Also the screeching sound it made when it died.
I don't know what it was, but when I was a kid this song kept me up for weeks.
I don't know what it was, but when I was a kid this song kept me up for weeks.
Another one in the same series that can induce the same effect. Perhaps for...slightly different reasons, though. This would make a good movie song. Also, why was Soul Reaver rated T while Blood Omen (and every other game in the series, for that matter) was rated M? Edit: I stand corrected on this. My copy of the game is rated T for some odd reason, but apparently it was rated M in other places/versions. Well, damnit. Now I want to play this but don't remember where I packed away the disk. More Oblivion scariness: *walking through pitch black dungeon with torch* *enters combat* *doesn't see any enemies* *turns around corner* *torch burns out* *gets smacked by dread zombie* *throws mouse across room* *mouse hits lamp and breaks lightbulb* *dies* *sits there unmoving for 30 minutes* Oblivion is one of the few games in existence where you both get a boner and get the living shit scared out of you.

its so cliche but Gman in HL2. Even when you can't see him you know he's always there, watching.
I always stayed away from the wilderness of the camp after [sp]everyone's brains go missing[/sp] in psychonauts.
TBH the only thing that marked me as unsettling in that game was [sp]The music from The Meat Circus the first time I listened to it[/sp]. Afterwards it became one of my most listened to songs. Also, from the Silent Hill Movie, [sp]Colin the Janitor[/sp]
:ohdear: This is what happens when you combine noise, melody, and insane Japanese people.
Also, from the Silent Hill Movie, [sp]Colin the Janitor[/sp]
I found him a bit excessive. I mean, [sp]fucking barbed-wire everywhere, long tongue, weird movement (that crushes his balls for some reason).[/sp] It's just a bit much. So why does he still scare me?

Just finished nightmare house 2. I liked the ending, very well done. The rest of the game made me nearly piss myself a couple of times. I must say, one of the best mods I've ever played.
