Imagine in the middle of the night you decide to play some SNES and suddenly

I had an old copy of Shark: Hunting the Great White and god it's pretty suprising at times, especially since it's old and you can only see sharks like 20 feet away from you. Not to mention the second to last and last levels.

I don't have a fancy video or picture, so use your imagination. Also, possible spoilers (they don't give away the game, but they give away a scare. Make of that what you will).
So in the 4th level (I believe), I was minding my own buisness, and going about the level in a fearless manor. I came across a ladder that I had to use to continue, and as I proceded to go down it, I see Alma at the top looking down at me (at this point, I became used to the scares and I wasn't chilled by them until this moment).

Ah, Silent Hill before the movie fucked up everything somehow.
I still think that SH2 was the best, like most people. I remember how, near the beginning of the game, when you first enter the apartments and go up the stairs from the main lobby, there's this really fucking creepy sound that loops every half-minute or so when on the top floor that sounds like a piece of furniture being moved. This being in a supposedly abandoned apartment, mind you.
Didn't help that, behind the actual door to the apartments was a really long and completely dark hallway, and your radio starts going off the instant you enter the hallway. Combine that with playing in the middle of the night with the lights off, and you just don't stop shivering.

You're a bid daddy. You have a drill for an arm. You can shoot things like fire and lightning out of the palm of your hand. Yet, you're still creeped out?

To be fair, you are more or less the same bloke from the first game.
The scariest part of the Lavender Town story isn't the Unit 731 or all the other rumors. For me, it's the fact that the actual theme for that city has weird images engraved into the sound.
Why Nintendo would do that keeps me up at night.

I think the problem is is that I don't feel like one.
The X18 labs in Shadow of Chernobyl.
Does anyone else keep their back against a wall when you hear or see something scary in a video game?
Just to make sure it doesn't come up behind you or anything?
Late, but I am absolutely terrified of Bloodsuckers. If I even get the suggestion that the things are lurking within the depths of a structure, I will refuse to go near it.
The fact that they have human-like bodies dosn't help. It just gives me the sense that they have intelligence similar to my own, making them even more of a threat.

I have a bad habit of spinning in circles whenever I hear something scary.

Every cutscene from twisted metal black. To a 7 year old that stuff is just crazy.

Twisted Metal is amazing. I love seeing how each person gets screwed in the end by their own greed/lust/stupidity

Dark forces... Nostalgiaaaaaaaa. Man I was so young when I first played that game, and it was so low res, that I couldn't tell what was going on at all. I literally had no clue where I was going. I never got that far even though that's like, what, the third mission?
Legend of zelda: ocarina of time was weird. it didn't really scare me in the traditional way. It kinda bothered me, and gave me this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. Like something was wrong. Everything was fine for the first two dungeons, but I've always had a phobia of getting eaten alive, so after the third dungeon it was all downhill. I managed to pull together the willpower to finish jabbu jabbu's belly, only to be greeted by a horde of redeads when I got to the future. After that it was pretty much guaranteed that I was going to quit. I got the hookshot and got to, like, the first room of the forest temple before I put the game down. Luckily my preorder copy of wind waker arrived not much later, and I switched to that instead. I only just beat ocarina of time this year :unsmith:

Apparently some dude is working on a Yume Nikki remake half-life mod. At first I figured that it was dead, but I checked and saw that last post by the developer was five days ago. No clue as to whether or not it looks good or not, I never played the original.
The thing you have to fight to get the speedy shoes in Ocarina of Time.
For me, it has to be exploring dark sewers with the Fellout (makes it harder to see in the dark) mod in New Vegas. The first time I did it, I had nothing to help me see (cateye, night perks) so I was walking blind in the tunnels, then suddenly, the camera turns around and I can see nothing but 2 beady eyes saying "Hey there, smoothskin." It was the first time I saw a Ghoul in Fallout, AND before I found out my pip-boy had a light too.
EDIT: Mod was un-installed right after that.
