I don't know why are people afraid of Bloodsuckers and the first meeting with Poltergeist in SHoC. When I heard the Bloodsucker for the first time, I aimed at the point where his head should have been (he was invisible dammit) and pulled the trigger. He died. When I managed to get to the Poltergeist, I wasn't scared at all, I was thinking about a way to kill him. The only thing that scared me in that game is the mine that knocks you out before the meeting with the doctor (I don't remember his name): I was playing with my headsed on almost maxed out sound settings and then BOOOM. It sounded like WW3 just started.
If you want someone to have an horror dream and freak yourself out simply let the "Breathe" file from the poison zombie in HL2 play on a loop. If you don't know "Breathe", there it is but sadly not looped. I did it at 23 O clock full night and my brother sleeped. Talked to me the next day of an abrupt horror dream he had. I was also freaked out after hearing nothing else than the breathe sound perfectly looping on a loop setting.
HOLY SHIT I'm not sure if I'll buy singularity now. I also saw the part where you are in water, you turn the corner, then... Well, let's say I'll have to check for a video.
You should still get it, quite an amazing game. that scream man. THAT. FUCKING. SCREAM.
-snip because I don't know how to post because I'm a fucking retard-
It's all fun and games if you don't get hit. Then you're pretty much gonna end up getting sliced in half or falling down a bottomless pit and piss away lives that you need because the fucking game spawns you with only four lives every time you load a save. Mind you, playing this when you were seven years old and watching as Crash is helplessly blinking in the darkness as you're trying to memorize how the path looked like and try to reach the next checkpoint. And mind you, they pulled that shit three games in a row. The third one being so fucking hard that you can't even beat the bonus level without loosing your light source. And in in the first game you have to go through the blackout basement levels twice. In a row. There are also underground levels which take place in abandoned tombs full of traps and snakes and bats flying out in your face and most of the levels are botomless pits... ugh, the whole game had a massive nightmare fuel potential.
Also, is it just me or does low res textures for scary enemies tend to scare you much more then high res? I guess its partly because of the difficulty recognizing.
KF on low graphics
I hear Serious Sam spooked many people's guts off.
These damn things, I would just be minding my own business then one just sneaks up behind me...
if youve ever played frogger 2, you know how traumatizing certain parts can be, especially parts with giant spiders, robots, and fucking ghosts the part at 1:35 pretty much had me shitting pants and quitting the game every time i tried

I ended up falling into the sewer trap and getting slaughtered.

Simcity 4 is kind of the best city-building game ever, right? The soundtrack is the usual Maxis quality, AKA excellent. I really liked all the songs (Until they repeated so much that it got annoying, though), but there's an odd one. One that is unticked by default, so you may only hear it if you bother to go to music settings and enable it. And if you enable it... I shouldn't have listened to this at 2 AM
what the hell. Why is that in the game?
The caves in Turok on the n64. 2:50
Turok always kind of freaked me out, the game felt lonely and I got fucking lost a lot, I had no idea where I was going in the first parts of them game :P.

They added it in the game for a reason, but when they added it into game why disable it if you could just remove it ? it is a mystery..
I was never one to play horror games, but Bioshock..wow. It was the part where you go to the bedroom, there's a side-entrance to a room with a funeral casket in it. A splicer flipped the casket, and I jumped, and gasped. It was the only time I was ever scared of something in bioshock.

Not only by itself, but by the mistery that surrounds it
Sorry to bring up Twisted Metal: Black again but it had a huge impact on me when I was younger because my parents found it hilarious to play in the dark on our old Playstation 2 as I cried in the background begging them to just let me play Tony Hawk 3. Mr. Grimm's story isn't creepy enough to be put in here so I'll just leave the most traumatizing ones (to me, at least) here so you guys can bask in its horrifying, traumatizing brilliance as well. Crazy 8, the ex-boxer who had his [sp]whole life fucked over when a back-alley doctor took out his eyes and tounge and sewed them shut (because Crazy 8 lost a match the doctor had bet on).[/sp] And Yellow Jacket, who could forget the little creep who [sp]controls the reanimated corpse of his father (whose brains were blown out, might I add) with a remote.[/sp] What a fucked up game. All of the characters' back stories are worth looking into but those two always stood out to me the most.
I feel pathetic about this, now, but... Majora's Mask: I never got passed getting the ocarina. Seriously. I would get the Deku Mask, take one step out of Clock Town... ...And that's it. I was scared of the monsters. Same for Wind Waker. I never went into the forest. Yes, THAT forest. In the beginning of the game. I was stuck on Outset, and did nothing. :v: I did swim to the pirate ship, though. Couldn't do anything, but still. Then, I manned the fuck up and beat those games. WHAT THE FUCK WAS I MISSING ALL THOSE YEARS

Whenever I play Stalker C.O.P. when it's dark and I try going back to the safehouse, when suddenly the "sight meter" goes full and I hear grunts. OHGODOHMANOHGODOHMAN WHERETHEFUCKISIT?
The fucking baby bomb in Fallout, the one in the video is not scary but think of running around in the dark sewers and getting surprised by that thing. Well it's a cutscene but holy crap, when I was younger I almost couldn't play this level because of this:
Also this:
I wish those games were on PC too....

Everything is so smooth. all the fingers are separated. Its amazing. Why arent more games today like that?
IMO, this is more fucked up.
Fuck it, let's just say all of them are pretty fucked up.
The floating boxes in shadow of chernobyl, Those freaked the fuck out of me. I mean your walking through this pitch black underground base, bam 3 boxes lift off the ground and just float. Nearly shat my pants, but they didn't do anything they just welll floated there. Then I started moving and again and then boom they go from floating there to lunging at my face. :tinfoil:
When I was seven and i played through ravenholm from Half life 2 those fast zombies man, and that corpse falls when you go up the stairs, my reaction NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE (OPENS MENU GOES TO QUIT GAME) NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE
