Wasnt there something about DLC coming out today?
There was a rumor of DLC (supposedly the classic costumes) being released today, but I guess it was just a rumor.
Wait how would Stryker's X-ray work on Kenshi.
how the fuck am i supposed to beat quanchi and scorpion as liukang in story mode??
spam fly kicks and launching combos [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] also fireballs
spam fly kicks and launching combos [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] also fireballs
its fucking impossible, every time i win one time then they spam teleport moves that you can't block oh and you cant block the x rays either that is really fun especially when they do it twice in the same round
Wait how would Stryker's X-ray work on Kenshi.
How would Noob's X-ray work on Reptile, without melting his leg?
Isnt Noob technically dead? Like a shadow of his former self or something? I never figured out his purpose.

So on GameBattles I had a match setup for 11:00 clock and he didn't send me a message, party invite, game invite until around 11:30 when I had to send him one myself. Not only that he refused to join my party and invited me to my own when I'm clearly the one hosting the match. Upon joining his party he insulted me and began to mock me for no apparent reason and then shorty after he kicked me from the party which doesn't help at all when you're trying to setup a match because the lack of communication. Anyway, that's beside the point, but it did make it difficult in the first place. First of all, he invited me to his game and, of course, as laggy as Mortal Kombat is it wouldn't let me join his room. So then I tried inviting him instead and he still couldn't join either. He then sent me a message saying "says session no longer." The "Session is no longer available" connection error is very common in this game. So what I did was I told him to go cancel the match, which I have already done. I check the match statistics about ten minutes later and I noticed that he was a win and I have a loss. Basically, dude was a super douche. Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you try-hard of the forever: P.S. EVERYTHING he says is false. Finally got MK9 today and started to play it. Pretty fun but I haven't played a fighting game in a long time so I gotta get used to it.
doing fatalities on an xbox controller is so hard...

I applied to this sweepstakes that G4 is doing to get a Mortal Kombat fightstick, although to be honest I'd probably end up selling it. I'd prefer to get one of the runner-up prizes, like a sweet T-Shirt or something. I've gotten good enough with the Xbox controller that I really feel the transition to a fightstick would be starting from Square 1.
Do you guys use the d-pad or thumbstick? I started with the d-pad but occasionally switch between the two.
I use the D-Pad, it's more precise than the thumb stick.
I use the D-Pad too.
Xbro's d-pad is horrible still.
I use the thumbstick for movement and easy special attacks. I use the d-pad for moves that I can't do with the thumbstick and finishing moves since it's easier.
Can't use the thumbstick, slides too easy for me. Fighting games are pretty much the only game I use the d-pad in.
Is it just me, or is Quan Chi creeping into becoming the biggest "Villain Sue" in the history of video games? The dude has now, so far:

Overthrown Lucifer, and installed a fallen god that favors him as the ruler of the Netherrealm
Stole the power of said god, in such a manner that other gods (including the one it was stolen from) could not notice until it's far too late
Personally goaded the first Sub Zero and Scorpion into killing each other, then claimed both their souls as servants
Was retconned into being the guy who came up and executed both the "Soulnado" and "Invade Earthrealm via Sindel" plans; stealing the thunder from Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn
Was retconned into bringing Shao Kahn back to life after 2, instead of Shao Kahn just being powerful enough to bounce back from things that would kill most people
Was originally just duping the "big bad" of MK4, but has been retconned into[sp]setting up every big-time menace from 1 to the start of Deception, and beating every last one of them at their own games[/sp]
Set up an alliance that started off with killing Shao Kahn and Liu Kang, then ended with killing Raiden
Killed almost all of the good guys with the help of Shang Tsung, then killed Shang Tsung, then was the only person to survive the attack against the Dragon King that re-killed Raiden and Tsung
In MKvsDC, despite not actually being in the game, showed up in cutscenes to prove that he's the only dude who really knows what's going on and isn't being controlled by the power that's taking over everyone else
In Shaolin monks, showed up in the last cutscene to reveal that he'd played everyone (again) despite not actually being in the game proper (again)
And, as the timeline really starts to deviate in this particular installment,
[sp]Sets things up so he gets the souls of bloody EVERYONE. Including, ultimately, Shao Kahn's (if his Arcade ending bleeds into the actual storyline)[/sp]
I mean, damn. I've seen "background villains" turn out to be the masterminds behind a story before, but I don't think I have ever seen one go back and claim all the stories that ever came before his actual creation.
And he has an awesome voice.
Quan-chi reminds me of some evil character in a Disney movie. I can't remember which though.
Quan Chi is badass.
I'm pretty new at the mortal kombat series, but why are quan chi and cyber sub zero at the bottom of the tier list? They seem pretty good to me.
Quan-chi reminds me of some evil character in a Disney movie. I can't remember which though.
His face reminds me of Frollo from that Notre Dame movie.
I'm pretty new at the mortal kombat series, but why are quan chi and cyber sub zero at the bottom of the tier list? They seem pretty good to me.
They're there because they're unlockables. :v:

Was retconned into bringing Shao Kahn back to life after 2, instead of Shao Kahn just being powerful enough to bounce back from things that would kill most people
Shao Kahn would have bounced back, he wasn't going to die. In the story mode Quan Chi just speeds up his recovery.
I dont really like how everybody dies in the Story. I mean Sindel comes and kills fighters that were there for the whole game with 1 move.
Some of them don't even appear to be dead, you can see them getting back up/receiving help when you begin the last Chapter I think.
